G10-IG2 Lab. Report 1. Comparing Visual and Auditory Reaction Time
G10-IG2 Lab. Report 1. Comparing Visual and Auditory Reaction Time
Introduction:
Hypothesis:
Predict with reasons which one would be the fastest and reference it (link to
the resource in brackets).
Variables:
What you are researching to see if it affects what you measure/record (is the
presumed caused).
1. Open https://playback.fm/audio-reaction-time
2. Preview sound so you know what to expect.
3. Touch the screen to begin.
4. When you hear the bell, touch the orange window as soon as you can.
5. Record the average time after 5 attempts and write it on the board.
1. Open https://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/java/redgreen.html
2. Click the large button “Click here to start” on the right to begin.
3. Wait for the stoplight to turn green.
4. When the stoplight turns green, click the large button “Click here on the
green light” quickly!
5. Click the large button “WAIT” to continue to the next test.
6. Record the average time after your 5 attempts.
ATTENTION!! Check that both sets of results have the same unit, if not you
need to convert it first.
Data analysis:
a. Collect averagedata for auditory and visual test results from 9 other people.
b. Make a table to present the results.
c. Calculate the average auditory and visual for the 10 participants.
d. Draw a bar graph comparing the overall average of the auditory reaction
time and the visual reaction time on graph paper.
Conclusion:
EXTENSION 1. Draw the table and the graph in Excel on your iPad.
EXTENSION 2. Answer question 1 p141 in textbook.
