Prototype Evaluation

User Interviews

We have gathered their responses through an online survey after they had the opportunity
to try and test our prototype in the school campus. This approach allowed us to collect detailed
feedback on their experiences while using our prototype.

Respondent 1: Mohammad Azeem Abdu

“The neck pillow is very comfortable, and the massager feature is great for relaxation.
However, the mini fan might not be so helpful if the bus has an air conditioner. The earplugs are
helpful for noise cancellation. The hood is nice, but it could be made larger to cover more of the
face.”

Respondent 2: Djey Dionaldo

“I love the concept and the idea of having everything in one pillow. The massager feels
great, and the hood is perfect for blocking out light. The mini fan, I’d like it to have adjustable
speeds. The earplugs are a bit bulky and uncomfortable; smaller, softer ones would be better.”

Respondent 3: Mark Luis Salvador

“The overall design is very practical for a bus ride. The neck pillow provides good
support, and the massager helps me relax. The mini fan is a nice addition. The earplugs fit well.
The hood is a bit difficult to adjust and could be made more user-friendly.”

Respondent 4: Grealle Masuki

“I’m satisfied with the neck pillow and massager, which are both very comfortable. The
mini fan is quiet enough, but it would be better with a cooling function. The earplugs would
work well, and the hood is a nice feature for privacy. However, the design of the hood could be
more adjustable to fit different head sizes.”

Respondent 5: Pakkih

“The neck pillow is great for supporting my neck, and the massager is a fantastic feature.
The mini fan is useful but could be more discreet in its operation. The earplugs are effective but
might need a better fit. The hood is comfortable but could be improved to stay in place better
during movement.”

Comprehensive Answer

Answer the following questions:

a. How did the prototype help you think about your idea?

The prototype helps us to have a better visualization of its functionality and

design. As well as to find the areas that need to improve.

b. What was frustrating about making a prototype?

The main frustration was sticking to the original idea for the prototype, as we
didn’t have enough knowledge to create it. However, we trusted the process to achieve a
better outcome in the end.

c. What challenges did you face when communicating and working with group members?

The challenge we faced was having different visions and ideas for the prototype,
but eventually, we reached an agreement and combined our ideas.

d. How was the experience of the target users while evaluating the prototype?

The overall experience of the target users seems to be positive, and they
appreciate the multi-functional design of the neck pillow. The massager feature was
particularly well-received, with several users finding it relaxing and comfortable. The
neck pillow itself was praised for providing good support, making it ideal for long bus
rides. Additionally, the hood and earplugs were generally found useful for blocking out
light and noise, enhancing relaxation and privacy.

e. What challenges did they face when evaluating the prototype?

Despite the positive feedback, users encountered a few challenges while

evaluating the prototype. One common issue was the hood's adjustability; several users
suggested that it could be made larger or more adjustable to better cover the face and fit
various head sizes. The mini fan, while generally considered a helpful addition, some
users felt that the fan might be unnecessary if the bus already has air conditioning.
Another challenge was the earplugs' comfort, with some users finding them bulky and
uncomfortable, recommending smaller, softer alternatives for a better fit. Finally, the
hood's stability was highlighted by one user, who noted that it could be improved to stay
in place more securely during movement, as it tended to slip or misalign.
