R-BOOKS is a launching program allowing access to the Richardson Books on CD that you have
purchased. Sample pages are available for viewing the Richardson Books on CD that you have
not purchased.

All copies of R-BOOKS are sent out by default as 1 user demonstration copies which allow access to
only the sample pages. The main menu screen contains book/cd icons for each Richardson Book
on CD. The icon book will be either white or gray. White indicates that you have full access to
the book. Gray indicates that you do not have any access to the book but you will be given
a choice to see some sample pages.

When demonstration copies of R-BOOKS are launched, you will be greeted by the R-BOOKS
registration window where you are prompted to enter a new registration name and serial
number. If you are evaluating R-BOOKS and wish to view some sample pages of the
various Books on CD, click the Continue button.

To register R-BOOKS, contact our sales department at 480.497.2062 to obtain a new registration
name (up to 40 characters) and a new serial number based on your specific user license needs.
After you have obtained a new registration name and serial number, enter them into the R-BOOKS
registration window then click the Register button. Now each time R-BOOKS is launched, you will
bypass the R-BOOKS registration window.

Setup
R-BOOKS setup allows you to setup the file locations of the various Richardson Books on CD as
well as the Acrobat Reader setup. The Richardson Books on CD can be run directly off the CD-ROM
or the sub-directories and files can be copied to a local hard drive or a network drive.

R-BOOKS installs on each workstation with sub-directories and demo files for all the Richardson Books
on CD. Once you register your copy of R-BOOKS, you will need to change from the demo file to the actual
full version of the file and decide if you intend to run the books off the CD-ROM or the hard drive. Below
is the list of demo file names and actual file names. If you intend to run the books off the hard drive, copy
the entire directory off the CD-ROM to a new location. You only need to copy over the book directories
you are registered for.

in .PDF format. The .PDF files are password protected, so they cannot be viewed outside of R-BOOKS.
We provide the installation of the Acrobat Reader on the R-BOOKS CD-ROM under the \Acroread

Command Line Parameter

/cfg<cfg file path>

If you place a /cfg<cfg file path> on the command line that launches R-BOOKS, the program will
read the R-BOOKS.cfg file from the specified path, otherwise the R-BOOKS.cfg file is read from the
directory where R-BOOKS is launched. The R-BOOKS.cfg file contains the R-BOOKS setup information.

Example: c:\R-BOOKS\R-BOOKS.exe /cfg<Z:\Users\JohnDoe>
