Assessment Approach:
Assessments will be carried out on a continuous basis through the following assignments and a
semester-end exam.
A. Mid-term: (20%)
Students will take a 2-hour written exam in the 7th week of the semester, covering Units
I-IV achieving learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3
B. Assignment: (40%)
An assignment will be given for one to two weeks duration in the 3rd, 5th, 8th and 12th
week respectively. All four assignments will be marked out of 20% each. This will be
converted to 10% each while computing the total marks for the module. The contents of
the assignment are as follows:
● Assignments I for 10 marks will be covering Unit I-II (Present an engineering
drawing illustrating sheet layout and title block with usage of engineering letters.
Also, geometrical construction and construction of scales with proper
dimensions).
● Assignments II for 10 marks will be covering Unit III (Demonstrate orthographic
projection of points and lines in four different quadrants).
● Assignments III for 10 marks will be covering Unit IV-V (Analyze and demonstrate
orthographic projection of planes and solids).
● Assignments IV for 10 marks will be covering Unit VI-VII (Analyze and
demonstrate perspective view of different solid objects, sectioning of solid and
interpret isometric and orthographic drawing using computer-aided design
applications).
Assessment Criteria (Assignment):
1 Title block
1 Neatness
2 Completeness of problems
5 Content and correctness
1 Drawn on scale and dimensions shown
C. Semester-end exam: (40%)
Students will undertake a semester-end examination which is closed book for 4 hours of
40 marks covering the units taught. The question paper will be set as per the prescribed
format of the College.
