ACTIVITY 9
My Aims/Purposes
One of the challenges in the 21st century is the development of a global teacher
who exudes CLASS (Commitment, Love for Children, Accountability, Sincerity, and
Sociability). It is on this note that as a student teacher or a would-be educator, you are
given the task to participate in school and community activities that would enhance social
responsiveness and foster rapport and camaraderie.

B. Write a short essay about your social experiences in your cooperating school/
community.
I am glad for this semester because I have learned so much as a student teaching intern,
which has enlightened me in many ways, particularly in teaching and learning. I got out of
my comfort zone and learned how to mingle and converse with a large number of people.
Toward the end of my teaching internship, I discovered that reestablishing physical ties
with people and developing strong relationships with my co-interns was one of the most
rewarding aspects of my new normal. After two years of virtual learning, I've learned the
importance of having an open mind and adapting to different teaching philosophies and
personalities by seeing the progress of others around me. I've also been able to recognize
my social talents and weaknesses. It also underlined the need to utilize available
resources. It might be difficult to meet everyone's expectations at times, especially when
reality doesn't line up. As a consequence of these experiences, I've realized that setting
goals/plans and making a deliberate effort to keep to them are beneficial. Making the most
of any available preparation time and being in regular communication with my cooperating
teacher have proven to be critical. I now understand how important it is to retain
concentration and develop time management skills. Even if it is not always straightforward,
the advantages make the effort worthwhile. Always believe in yourself and trust that
everything happens for a reason.

C. Collect and paste significant items (memorabilia) from your participation in school and
community activities

My Observation (Reflections and Insight)
1. How did I work and contribute in preparation of school and community activities?
As a student teacher I’ve noticed the individual organized a charity fundraiser,
initiated a school recycling program, and served as a mentor for younger student.
They also participated in a cultural diversity fair, neighborhood cleanup initiative,
and served as a liaison between school and community organizations. They also
created educational workshops on mental health awareness, bullying prevention,
and environmental conservation.
4. How did I develop my talent and skills for school and community activities?
I truly believe that the best teacher is experience. Progress cannot be
accomplished if one does not actively pursue self-improvement. Trying new things
and taking risks does not hurt. I used to be a student who was frightened of failing,
but life's realities have taught me that failure is an essential part of personal
development. As a result, my previous experiences participating in various events
had a significant impact on who I am now, allowing me to become a better version
of myself.

How did I feel?
At first, I felt worried and upset. But I learned that the early stage is always the most
difficult, testing one's endurance and passion in equal measure. Recognized,
mistakes were made along the process, and there were moments when things
appeared repetitious and dreary after multiple attempts. Nevertheless, I persisted
and succeeded. I learned how vital it was to prepare psychologically, emotionally,
and physically before beginning these workouts.
I like acquiring new skills and honing my abilities by participating in a range of school
and community events. I see it as a win-win arrangement that helps both me and
the community. It is generally known that expertise takes time to develop and that
making mistakes is an essential part of the learning process. Failure does not define
the route. I support this notion since success requires time and effort. I regard these
as training grounds to assist me reach my goals. I have made errors and had ups
and downs, but my capacity to persevere in the face of adversity has strengthened
me.
I've learned a lot by participating in these activities, and I'll be able to apply it to
my future teaching profession. Even though I am only an intern teacher for the
time being, I am pleased to announce that I have accomplished several school
and community initiatives. Participating in these activities has caused me to
recognize a few things. There is always room for improvement when errors are
made. Given this, it is vital to periodically reflect on oneself. When it's my turn to
teach, I'm thrilled to put these new thoughts into practice and continue the
activities I've begun.
