V. Brief The recent typhoon that affected our region resulted

report details the transition process, the challenges
encountered, and the measures taken to ensure the
continuity of education for our students during this
difficult time.

VI. Highlights of the On October 24, 2024, the typhoon Kristine made
Activity landfall, bringing heavy rainfall, strong winds, and
widespread flooding. As a precautionary measure
and in response to safety concerns for both students
and staff, the local education authorities announced
the suspension of classes in all levels from October
28-31, 2024. The disruption lasted for several days,
leading to the need for immediate action to
maintain educational continuity.
In light of the suspension of face-to-face classes,
San Vicente JHS quickly mobilized to transition to
online and modular learning This involved several

key steps:

 The Grade 7 and 8 opted for Google Meet to


facilitate virtual classes.
 Announcements were made via email, social
media, and text messages to inform students
and parents about the shift to online classes.
A schedule for classes was communicated,
ensuring that all students were aware of the
new arrangements.
 Classes resumed on October 28, 2024, with
teachers conducting lessons as per the
existing curriculum. Attendance was
monitored through online check-ins, and class
participation was encouraged through
interactive activities.
 Regular feedback was collected from students
and parents to assess the effectiveness of the
online classes and identify areas for
improvement. Adjustments were made based
on this feedback to enhance the learning
experience.

Implementation of Modular Learning


For students who faced difficulties with online
learning, particularly those without reliable
internet access, modular learning was
introduced as an alternative:
 support students using the modular
approach, scheduled check-ins via phone or
messaging apps were arranged, allowing
teachers to clarify concepts and answer
questions.
 Students were instructed to submit
completed modules on November 4. This
allowed teachers to assess progress and
provide feedback.

information and understanding what to do during the class.

VII. Challenges Faced

challenging to attend online classes consistently.

interest and participation in an online environment
proved difficult, as some students struggled to

 Resource Accessibility: Not all students had
access to the necessary devices or learning
materials.
To address these challenges, the following
strategies were implemented:
 Flexible Scheduling: Classes were recorded and
made available for students to access at their
convenience, allowing for more flexible learning.
 Enhanced Communication: Regular updates
were shared with families about class schedules,
resources available, and additional support
services.
