DOI : https://www.doi.org/10.56726/IRJMETS55433 ABSTRACT Driver drowsiness detection system is safety technology that can prevent accidents that are caused by drivers who fell asleep while driving. This system will alert the driver when the drowsiness is detected and hence prevent the accidents from taking place. There are many such alarm systems which are focusing on alerting the driver because accidents caused due to human error are increasing day by day and causing many deaths and injuries worldwide. The main reasons that cause fatal crashes and highway accidents these days are the drowsiness and sleeping of the driver. This system employs a combination of sensors and algorithms to continuously monitor the driver's behavior and physiological parameters in real-time. Keywords: Road Safety, Eye Tracking, Facial Expression. I. INTRODUCTION The Safe Journey Monitor (SFM) represents a pivotal advancement in automotive safety technology, aimed at mitigating the risks associated with driver fatigue and drowsiness-induced accidents. By analyzing factors such as facial expressions, eye movements, steering behavior, and physiological signals, the SFM can accurately assess the driver's alertness level. In instances where signs of drowsiness are detected, the system promptly issues alerts to alert the driver, thereby preventing potential accidents. II. METHODOLOGY These methodology s are designed to facilitate efficient administration of the system, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to organizational policies and standards. 1. CONCLUSION In conclusion, the Safe Journey Monitor (SFM) is a crucial technology aimed at enhancing road safety by detecting signs of driver fatigue or drowsiness in real-time. Throughout this project, we have explored various techniques and technologies to develop a robust drowsiness detection system. Leveraging the power of Pygame OpenCV, TensorFlow, Keras other relevant libraries, we have implemented algorithms to analyze facial features, eye movements, and other physiological indicators of drowsiness VI.
