Bollywood is the popular term for the Hindi-language film industry in India,

primarily based in Mumbai (formerly Bombay). The name "Bollywood" is a blend of


"Bombay" and "Hollywood," highlighting its prominence in producing films, similar
to Hollywood in the United States. Known for its colorful and musical storytelling,
Bollywood is a major part of Indian cinema and culture, producing a large number of
movies each year that range from drama and romance to action, comedy, and thriller
genres.
