Ans. Microsoft excel is a fantastic program supported by windows operating system. Excel is
used almost in all factories, manufacturing units, business offices, banks or in all financial
institutions.

Ans. In order to move into pages up and down note the position of the cursor. In the same
manner to move from one page to any other page you can use page-up and down keys.

Ans. Microsoft excel is a spreadsheet program that helps us to analyze and understand the
data. Excel spreadsheet is combination of columns and rows. Columns are represented by
alphabets and rows by numbers.

Ans. Excel can do complex budgets and financial plans for business. It can also do simple and

show us only 18 of them due to screen size.

Ans. In a single worksheet in Excel has a much as 256 columns. But we can see only few
columns due to screen size.

Ans. Constants are actual value numbers, characters and their combinations can be stored in
BASIC Language. There are 2 types of constants:

1. Numeric constant (E.g. 580, +500, -1080 etc.)

2. String constant (Home address: “Jleeb School complex Road 100, Kuwait”)

Ans. Variables are symbols or codes used to store the values of the constant. Variables mean
one specific information at one time and can be quite different at another time. Value of
variables don’t remain fixed. There are 2 types of variables.

1. Numeric variables.
2. String variables.
Q.No.15. What are numeric and string constants?

Ans. Numeric constant is a positive or negative fixed number that can be assigned to a variable.
Example: 580 +880 + 560 etc. String constants can be written in the combination of characters,
enclosed in Quotes.

Ans. If a variable represents a number, no special characters are permitted in numeric


variables except these with valid numeric variables. String variables consist of names, address
etc. These are series of letters, number and special characters, within quotation marks.

Ans. GW-BASIC is a dialect of BASIC programming language developed by Microsoft from IBM
BASIC. BASIC stands for beginner’s all-purpose symbolic instructions code. BASIC is suitable for
simple games and business programs.
