Frame 1 (Where you live now)
Let’s talk about where you live now
- Which town or city do you live in now?
I live in Vinh phuc. It is a medium-sized province to the north of Hanoi- the capital center of
Vietnam
- Are there any things you don’t like about your area? (What are they?)
Of course I think I’d have to say that I’m not so keen on the weather. To be more precise, I really
can’t stand the summer months. This is due to the fact that the temperatures can get as high as
40 degrees celcius so it can be quite uncomfortable if I don’t have air conditioning in my house.
- Do you think you will continue to live there for a long time? (Why? Why not?)
Definitely yes. Although I will go to university for 4 years in Hanoi, I will surely return to my
hometown to develop my career and continue my life. I think Hanoi is full of the hustle and
bustle, and it is difficult to find cheap accommodation in the capital center. I also want to live
with my parents and look after them when they become older.
- What are some changes in the area recently?
Well, I think my city has changed so much. My hometown used to be an agricultural land, but
now it has become an industrial land. There are several industrial centers, factories and
workshops built here and people's lives are greatly improved compared to before
- Do you live in a house or an apartment?
Currently, I live with my family in a medium-sized house. It was built in 2010 when I was only 3
years old. This house plays an crucial role in my life because I spent a happy childhood here.
- What is your favourite room in your home? (Why?)

The thing that has made me quite confident in learning is pomodoro timer technique.
This is a method to manage time while studying or working, especially for those who often lose
focus like me.
When: I have been using this technique for almost 5 months, since this summer.
What: To make it clear for you, I’ll explain how the technique works. It means you study or work
for 25 minutes in a row and then take a short rest of 5 minutes.
How often:
How effective: At the beginning, I found it really hard to follow the rule as I used to surf the
phone while studying. However, I manage to resist the temptation of the phone.
Evidence: As a result, I got more things done in the same amount of time. Before, I could only
finish very little but after applying the method, more tasks can be completed with higher result.
This helps to improve my score of the first semester this year. That’s why I have become more
confident than I used to be.
Expansion: My friends also notice the improvement in my study and I have shared them the tip.
Hope it works for them just like it has worked for me.
