Assignment Title: Leadership Analysis Through the Lens of the Five Levels of Leadership

Objective: This assignment is designed to deepen your understanding of strategic


leadership by analyzing a leader you are familiar with from your personal or professional
life. You will identify and assess behaviors of this leader using the Five Levels of Leadership
framework. By the end of this assignment, you should be able to weigh the positive and
negative leadership traits and explain their impact on strategic leadership.

Task Overview:

1. Research a Leader: Search the internet or reflect on your own experience to


identify a leader with whom you are familiar. This could be someone from work,
school, your community, or even your home.

2. Share Their Start-Up Story: Provide a summary of the leader’s start-up or career
story, focusing on key milestones that contributed to their leadership journey.

3. Five Levels of Leadership: Using the Five Levels of Leadership framework, identify
behaviors of this leader that exemplify each level:

o Level 1: Capable Individual

o Level 2: Contributing Team Member

o Level 3: Competent Manager

o Level 4: Effective Leader

o Level 5: Transformational Leader

4. Analyze Positive and Negative Traits:

o Identify both positive and negative leadership traits and behaviors


demonstrated by the leader.

o Support your analysis with examples of how these traits affected their
leadership.

5. Weigh the Positives and Negatives:

o Weigh the importance of the positive and negative traits and behaviors.
Explain why some traits may be more crucial to effective leadership than
others.

o Offer a balanced evaluation of how these traits contributed to the leader’s


overall impact on their team, organization, or community.

Group Work Guidelines:

• Collaborate on researching and analyzing the chosen leader.

• Each group will submit a group report based on the structure provided below.

Deliverable:

Submit a group report as a Word document. Use the provided template to ensure
consistency in your submission.
