Reflective Journal Assessment 2024
Journal brief
Welcome to your own reflective journal for this module. This journal should be entirely
your own work and completed as frankly and honestly as possible. Reflection on our own
practice is one of the most power tools in self-development and professionalism but only if
you commit to giving it 100%.
There are 4 different reflections to carry out. Each is worth 6.25% of your overall marks.
This manual poses the questions, and you are free to use it for your answers and then
submit as a document at the end.
Please ensure that you present your final document in a professional manner. Remember
that when you are writing it can form a first impression of you and so it is incredibly
important to make sure that your written work shows your skills off well. It does not have
to be very complex, in fact in safety simple can often be very effective.
Be sure to apply the information discussed about reflection in class before trying to
undertake this journal. You may find it hard at first, if this is the case don’t worry – it is to
be expected. We generally do not reflect on ourselves in a positive manner so it is
important to acknowledge that this is a skill that will take practice.
1. Reflection on own communication style.
2. Reflection on presenting your work
3. Reflection on written work
4. Reflection on module as a whole
Carry out each of these reflections throughout the semester. Submit them as a single
document by the date assigned.
