and experts in the industry to initiate a novel discourse on emerging issues
pertaining different areas of law.

RGNUL-SAM CONCLAVE ON ARBITRATION IN PRACTICE, 2021
In July 2021, the Editorial Board had organised the RGNUL-SAM Conclave on Arbitration in
Practice, in collaboration with SAM & Co, with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre
(‘SIAC’) acting as an Associate Partner for the event. The Conclave was extremely successful in
initiating a discourse on practical issues in arbitration in India. The Paper Presentation Session
saw participation from students across the country presenting novel solutions to challenges
faced by various stakeholders in the field of arbitration, and the Expert Panel Discussion
brought together leading experts, who shared practical insights into the evolving
opportunities and persisting hurdles that are likely to shape arbitration in the coming years.
The panel of speakers consisted of Mr. Tejas Karia (Partner, Head – Arbitration, SAM & Co), Mr.
Gauhar Mirza (Partner, SAM & Co), Mr. Kevin Nash (Deputy Registrar, SIAC), Mr. Rohit Singhal
(Chief Executive Officer and Construction Dispute Expert, Masin). The discussion was
moderated by Mr. Prakhar Deep (Senior Associate, SAM & Co).
In May 2022, the Editorial Board organised the 2nd RGNUL-SAM Conclave on Practical Aspects
of IT Litigation and Data Protection in India, in collaboration with SAM & Co. The Conclave
was extremely successful in initiating a discussion on the critical and contemporary issues in
the Information Technology sector, with a particular focus on understanding the disputes that
emerge in India. Various participants researched and presented novel and innovative solutions
to the issues confronting all stakeholders during the Paper Presentation Session. The Expert
Panel Discussion witnessed professionals in the Information Technology sector participating
in the discussion, sharing practical insights into the industry's ever-changing opportunities
and lingering challenges. The panel of speakers consisted of Mr. Tejas Karia (Partner, Head –
Arbitration, SAM & Co), Mr. Gauhar Mirza (Partner, SAM & Co), and Dr. Subhajit Basu
(Associate Professor, Leeds University). The discussion was moderated by Mr. Prakhar Deep
(Senior Associate, SAM & Co).
In April 2023, the 3rd RGNUL-SAM Conclave on Emerging Trends in Banking and Finance in
India, was organized which was extremely successful in initiating a discussion on the critical
and contemporary issues in the banking and finance sector, with a particular focus on
understanding the challenges that are emerging in the sector. Emerging Trends in Banking
& Finance in India have been the focus of discussion for quite some time now. With the ever-
evolving financial landscape, it is crucial to keep an eye on the emerging trends to stay ahead
of the curve. Various participants researched and presented novel and practical solutions to
the challenges all stakeholders through the paper presentation session. Leading experts from
SAM & Co and other professionals in the Banking and Finance sector participated in the
Expert Panel Ddiscussion, sharing practical insights into the industry's ever-changing
opportunities and lingering challenges.
About the conclave
Insolvency and bankruptcy laws constitute a formidable domain within the legal
landscape, characterized by its dynamic nature and technical intricacies. This legal
sphere constantly evolves, responding to the ever-changing dynamics of financial
distress and corporate restructuring. In recognition of these factors, the RGNUL-
SAM Conclave will serve as a platform for the initiation of insightful discussions on
the emergent trends in insolvency and bankruptcy laws in India. The Conclave aims
to foster a nuanced discourse on pressing issues within this expanding domain,
offering innovative solutions that address the concerns of various stakeholders
involved.
The next session of the Conclave would be a Paper Presentation Session. The
Editorial Board of RFMLR invites law students to submit research papers
under the below-mentioned theme to contribute to the discourse around
practical issues in Insolvency & Bankruptcy in India. After preliminarily
reviewing all the manuscripts, the Editorial Board will shortlist entries whose
authors will be invited to present their research before the experts from SAM
& Co on the day of the Paper Presentation Session.

1. The Editorial Board of RFMLR invites submissions from law students from within and outside
India for the purpose of the paper presentation.
2. The submissions shall be written in the English language only.
3. Co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two authors.
4. The word limit for the submission is 3000-6000 words (exclusive of abstract and footnotes).
5. Submissions shall be lucid, contemporarily relevant, and well-researched. They shall contain a
novel analysis of the issue by the author(s). The Editorial Board encourages analytical
submissions with concrete suggestions over descriptive submissions with generic
suggestions.
6. Any form of plagiarism is strictly prohibited and the submission shall be original,
unpublished, and an outcome of the author’s own efforts.
7. The author(s) bear sole responsibility for the accuracy of facts, opinions and views stated in
the submission.
8. The name(s) of the author(s) or institution must not be mentioned anywhere in the body of
the submission.
9. The author(s) shall refrain from submitting the manuscript elsewhere during the pendency of
the review process.
10. The author(s) are required to submit an abstract, not exceeding 250 words, within their
manuscript.
FORMATTING
1. Body: Submissions shall be typewritten in Times New Roman, font size 12 with line spacing 1.5
and justified alignment.
2. Footnotes: Citations shall be in accordance with OSCOLA (4th Ed). All the footnotes shall be
typewritten in Times New Roman, font size 10 with single line spacing and justified
alignment. Use of speaking footnotes is strictly prohibited.
COPYRIGHT
1. Author(s) shall divest the copyright of the manuscript to RGNUL Financial and Mercantile Law
Review, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, once the manuscript has been
selected for publication. However, all moral rights shall remain with the author(s).
1. The author(s) shall submit the manuscript through the registration-cum-submission form
here before the submission deadline. No author is allowed to submit more than one
manuscript.
2. The author(s) shall submit the manuscript in .doc or .docx format. The author(s) shall submit
