Organizational Culture and Climate on Group Process and Team Building

Discuss how the perspectives for the PICOT differ depending on the discipline represented by

each stakeholder? What impact will they have on the group process and in team building? How

is the group process and team building effected by the organization's culture and climate of

transparency and safety? How will the outcomes of the committee be impacted?

The perspective for the PICOT are dependent on stakeholders’ perception regarding their

feeling about the arrival to provider time. As witnessed in our weekly reading, we had divergent

views about the time arrival to provider should be. Nonetheless, we were in agreement about the

busy queue in the emergency department (Mannion, 2018). The stakeholders play critical role in

ensuring that service delivery and patient care in emergency room is effective and efficient to

minimize waiting time. A section of stakeholder particularly patients have raised concerns about

long waiting time. These concerns heightens stress levels among other stakeholders particularly

the physicians and nurses, which significantly affects their productivity and service delivery.

The effective triage and incorporating assessment of care at the initial stage have positive

impact on the group process and team building. By fast tracking these areas with triaging enables

the service providers and the nursing staff to significantly reduce wait time and crowding in ED

as well as patient flow. This means that the group process created by the physicians, leadership,

and the team of staff have positive influence on the organizational culture and climate (Patey, C.,

2019). For instance, there will be upfront transparency for patient safety measures in place to

adequately triage patient care. The flow in emergency room culture indicate a positive impact on

the environmental hospital setting, patient’s and staff’s outcome. Therefore, adding triage

specific nurses and staff reduces wait time and long queue, and admissions that are not

necessary.
