PROGRAM 1

CREATE A NEW STYLE USING DRAG AND DROP METHOD

AIM:

To Create a new style in Libreoffice writer using drag and drop method.

PROCEDURE:

Step 1:Click on Libre office6.4

Step 2:Select Writer document in Libre office.

Step 3: Libreoffice writer will open.

Step 4:Type your document and apply syles using styles in the menubar(or) press F11 to open
the style dialogue box.

step 5:It has the following:

a)paragraph style

b)character style

c)frame style

d)page style

e)list style

f)table style

g)fill format

h)style actions

step 6:After applying the necessary styles to the document select,click and drag the document
under any one of the category in the style dialog box.

Step 7:Automatically create style window will open.

Step 8: Give your own style name and if you press ok,automatically that style name will be
displayed on the style dialog box, under the selected category.

Step 9:Whenever we want we can use the style for the future purpose of this document.

RESULT:

Thus the new style was created successfully using drag and drop method.
PROGRAM 2

INSERT AND MODIFY THE IMAGES USING LIBREOFFICE WRITER

AIM:

To insert an image from file and modify the images using Libreoffice writer.

PROCEDURE:

Step 1:Click on Libreoffice 6.4

Step 2:Open writer document.

Step 3:In the writer document

Select INSERT IMAGE FROM FILE

Step 4: Automatically the selected image will be displayed on the writer document.

Step 5: If you want to modify the images like cropping,rotating,resizing that can be done by
selecting right click over the images or select FORMAT IMAGE CROP
option from the menubar.

Step 6:Select the image and right click over the image the context menu will open,if you select
crop automatically cropping tool will be appear over the image.

Step7:Crop the image based on your requirements.(Cropping cuts the unwanted portions)

Step 8:If you want to rotate the image ,go to FORMAT ROTATE OR FLIP
ROTATE option.It will shows several options, you select based on your requirements.

Step 9:If you want to resize the image, click on the image the eight sizing handles will appear
over the image.

Step 10:Using the corner handles both width and height can be adjusted simultaneously,the
remaining four handles adjust only single side of images at a time.

Thus the image was inserted and modified (crop,rotate,resize)successfully using Libreoffice
writer.
PROGRAM 3

CREATE TABLE OF CONTENT USING LIBREOFFICE WRITER

AIM:

To create a Table of Content using LibreOffice Writer.

PROCEDURE:

STEP 1: Open LibreOffice 6.4

STEP 2:Click on Writer document.

STEP 3:Type your document or open any existing document and allocate the headings and sub-
headings using the style menu.

STEP 4: After that Go to INSERT TABLE OF CONTENTS AND INDEX TABLE OF


CONTENT ,INDEX OR BIBLIOGRAPHY.

STEP 5:Once if you click the above,automatically the Table of contents,Index or Bibliography
dialogue box will open.

STEP 6:In that dialogue box you have 5 tabs(Type,Entries,Styles,Columns,Background),Default


Type tab will be selected there you can type your title,Entries tab is used for creating links
etc.,Styles tab is used for changing the styles,Columns tab is used for setting the
columns,Background tab is used for changing the background color and images for the Table of
Contents.

STEP 7:After making the necessary changes in the Table of contents dialogue box ,Press ok
button ,automatically the Table of Content will be displayed with page numbers.

STEP 8:After that if you want to make any changes that can be done using Edit Index option of
contex menu(right click on table of content and select edit index option).

Thus, the Table of Content was successfully created using LibreOffice Writer.
PROGRAM 4

GOAL SEEK USING LIBREOFFICE CALC SPREADSHEET

AIM:

To find out an input depending upon the specific output.

PROCEDURE:

STEP 1: Open the Libreoffice 6.4 and click on Calc Spreadsheet.

STEP 2:Create the marksheet with subject and marks.

STEP 3:Out of 5 subjects we know only four subject marks but if we want attain particular total
the fifth subjects marks gets varied based on that, for this calculation we are using the GOAL
SEEK options in the calc spreadsheet.

STEP 4:Click on TOOLS GOAL SEEK, automatically the Goal seek dialog window will
open.

STEP 5:Write/Select the formula cell address.

STEP 6:Enter the Target value in the Goal seek window.

STEP 7:Select the variable cell address( NOTE: The value of variable cell should not be empty,
put the value as Zero)

STEP 8:After that if you click OK automatically it will shows the message box with the variable
cell value based on the target value.

STEP 9:If you want to accept CLICK YES automatically that value will be displayed on the
variable cell and the target total marks will also be achieved, otherwise you can CLICK NO to
check for another values using the goal seek option again.

Thus, the Goal seek using Calc Spreadsheet was successfully executed and verified.
