LOWDOSE CT REPORT- BRAIN (PLAIN)


TECHN1QUE: Serial axial sections of brain were made from base of skull to the vertex without
intravenous contrast.

OBSERVATION:
Hyperdense area of haemorrhagic attenuation measuring 9 x 4 cm noted in left
fronto-parietal regions with adjacent significant oedema causing mass effect on
ipsilateral lateral ventricle, Mild midline shift of 6 mm to right side - - suggestive of
acute intracranial haemorrhage-- advice further evaluation.
Mucosal thickening noted involving bilateral maxillary sinuses- sinusitis.

The gray white differentiation is maintained.


The cerebellum, brainstem and basal cisterns appear normal.

Cerebello pontine angles appear normal.


Ventricular system and sulci are normal for the age.
The sella and parasellar regions are normal.
The basal ganglia, thalami and capsular tracts appear normal.
The bones of the cranium and pericranial soft tissue appear normal.

IMPRESSION:

ipsilateral lateral ventricle, Mild midline shift of 6 mm to right side- - suggestive of
acute intracranial haemorrhage--advice further evaluation.
