Summer Holiday 2024
We sincerely want to thank you for your hard work and dedication throughout the school
year. Your commitment to education and community makes our schools thrive and no
doubt contributed to our extraordinary graduation rate, the highest in the province.
According to the latest statistics from the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec, from the
2022-2023 academic year, our number stands at an impressive 95.9 percent, marking a
significant increase from 92.7 percent in 2021-2022. While the majority of students
graduated within five years, it's noteworthy that the Ministry allows for a two-year
extension to ensure students have ample opportunities to earn their diplomas or obtain their
initial qualifications
The province-wide success rate, which includes both public and private school results,
stands at 84.2 percent. Broken down further, the public system’s average is 81.7 percent,
while for the private sector, the number is 93.5 percent.
We can take great pride in the fact that we exceeded the average of both public and private
schools. The pandemic years were extremely challenging for all of us. Everyone rose to
the occasion. The results stem from a collective effort. That includes our teachers, in-school
administrators, support staff, and professionals from all of the departments at the Board.
We look forward to welcoming you back at the end of August refreshed and ready for
another successful year.
Warm regards,
The EMSB Directorate, Chair Joe Ortona and the Council of Commissioners
