CONCLUSION

In this project, we used GIS to identify the optimal locations for installing
solar panels in Paralakhemundi, Odisha, India. We considered various
factors, such as solar radiation, land use, slope, aspect, distance to roads,
and population density. We applied a weighted overlay analysis to
combine these factors and generate a suitability map. The map showed
that the most suitable areas for solar panels are located in the south and
east of the study area, where the solar radiation is high, the land use is
agricultural or barren, the slope is gentle, the aspect is south-facing, the
distance to roads is short, and the population density is low. We estimated
that these areas have the potential to generate about 500 MW of solar
power,
