1. The Meaning of Organic Compost
Organic compost is decomposed organic matter added to soil in order to
improve its quality. Organic compost Ximprove the texture of the soil, reduces
compaction, and increases the amount of water and air that can be held by the soil.
In compost, carbon-containing materials such as fruits, Woody debris,
vegetables, manure, and grasses are primarily present. Compost is a mixture of
decayed organic matter that is used to condition and fertilize the land.
When this raw material decomposes with the help of different fungal and
microbial agents, it becomes compost after a specific time.

Making an Organic Compost
2. Steps
1) Prepare the container with some holes at the bottom.
2) Household organic waste should be shredded into small pieces.
3) Fill the bottom of the container with soil, about 3-5 cm thick, to absorb
organic materials that may produce liquids.
4) On top of the soil, add organic waste mixed with soil in a ratio of at least 1
part soil to 3 parts organic material.
5) When the container is nearly full, cover the top with soil, 3-5 cm thick. Then,
seal the container and place it in a shaded area away from direct sunlight.
6) Stir the mixture every two weeks.
7) Mixing is important to ensure proper airflow within the container.
8) When the container’s temperature rises sufficiently, it indicates that
microorganisms are actively working.
9) By weeks 3-4, the composting process is expected to be complete, and the
container returns to normal temperature.
10) Take out the compost, dry under the sunshine, then add some ash.
11) Sift the compost. The compost is ready.
12) Once the compost is ready, it can be enriched or packaged.
13) Good compost has a dark brown color, smells like soil, and has a fine texture.
