7 Q044 Attending the research orientation has been a knowledgeable experience, it broadens my understanding of the significance of research in both academic and practical fields. As a student at Urdaneta City University, I’m glad to attend such an informative event that can equipped me with valuable tools and insights that I can apply to my own research. The research orientation was not just informative event but a truly inspiring experience, it is because of the impactful speeches delivered by greats speakers. Each speakers have unique perspective, expertise, and style into delivering their speeches and that what’s make the orientation fun and interesting. The first speaker is Dr. Noel Guevara, he started his speech with some backstory of the founder of Urdaneta City University. The founder “Dr. Pedro T. Orata” was someone who achieve many great things, known not only in locally but also international. Dr. Guevara challenge us to achieve on the same level, but how? He said by doing research that would be impactful that can compete enough internationally. He emphasized that meaningful research has the potential to make significant contributions to society and that with dedication, we too can be recognized internationally for our work. This message of ambition and excellence set the tone for the rest of the orientation, motivating us to aim higher in our research endeavors. Engr. Veniere Casteniaga, the next speaker, captured our attention and set our energy for the event by doing a small exercise activity. The one line that remained in my head is that are “mind is the most amazing gift that was given to us by god” because it is capable of limitless creativity and innovation. Upon giving a deep thought to that line our mind actually possesses unique ability to envision possibilities and transform ideas to realities. He also said that we should never stop learning and always seek new knowledge, research is the best way to seek knowledge. As the discussion goes on, he gives us a question, why do we need to keep on researching? He also answered because life is keeps moving forward, and so we must. As our societies or life evolve, a new challenge will arise so to stay relevant and to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world, research is essential. As for Engr. Fizer Dofredo, he focused his discussion on the key components of research, particularly on how to effectively write a research paper, from introduction to research methodologies. He provided clear and practical examples for each section, making the content easier for us to grasp and apply. His detailed explanation of each part of a research paper helped us to understand the process, offering valuable insights on how to approach writing with clarity and purpose. The highlight of his presentation, however, was the concept of the research gap. He emphasized the importance of identifying and addressing gaps because this is where your research revolves. Also Engr. Rhandel Zamora discussed about project or research management, his discussion involves planning, the execution, time, and budget. In conclusion, the research orientation was an eye-opening and inspiring experience. It deepened my understanding of the value of research in both academic and practical fields. Dr. Noel Guevara encouraged us to aim for impactful, globally competitive research, while Engr. Veniere Casteniaga highlighted the limitless potential of the mind and the importance of continuous learning. Engr. Fizer Dofredo provided practical insights on writing research papers, focusing on the importance of addressing research gaps, and Engr. Rhandel Zamora emphasized effective project management. Overall, the event equipped me with valuable knowledge and motivation to pursue meaningful research.
