How to use MAPPS NETWORK DRIVE
(for Media Viewer)
1. REQUIREMEN
1-1) MAPPS software
MAPPS software needs to be following edition or above.

1-2) Networking of the machine (MAPPS)
IP address (static IP address)
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway
1-3) Information of the Network share drive:
Computer name(*1) or IP address
Share Folder name
Access account (user name & password)
Please contact the network and/or system administrator(s) to get the information of the
networking parameters (IP address, subnet mask, default gateway) and/ or information of the
network share drive.
2. PARAMETER
Set MAPPS parameter No. 1340 = 1

3. Setup (Machine / MAPPS)
3-1) Display “NETWORK FUNCTION SETTING” page
[SYSTEM] [<] [COMM. SETNG]
3-2) Type “1” and then [Enter] to display “BASIC NETWORK SETTING CN6” page (if machine has
ONE network port, screen will be “BASIC NETWORK SETTING” page ).
Make sure that the “DHCP Function” field is set to [INVALID] and then enter the IP address,
Subnet Mask, Default Gateway fields.
Please also make sure that COMPUTER NAME field is showing the serial number of the
machine. If this field is not showing the machine serial number, please enter the machine
serial number.
3-3) Press [SET] to apply
changes.
3-4) Press [RETURN] to go
back menu screen.

3-5) Type “4” and then [Enter] to display NETWORK I/O SETTING page. Then, press [F4] to
display “NETWORK DRIVE SETTING (Q:)”
3-6) Make sure that the “NETWORK DRIVE Function” field is set to [VALID] and then, enter
Computer Name or IP address, Share Folder Name, User Name and PASSWORD fields.
3-7) Press [SET] to apply.
Connecting the
network drive will take
several seconds.
Please do not push any
keys.
3-8) When MAPPS is recognized network drive, the following dialog window will appeared and
disappeared in few seconds.

3-9) Display the I/O device (Communication parameters) setting page
[SETTING] [PARAM.] [I/O PARAM.]
3-10) Set [NETWORK]
3-11) Press [SET]
[EXECUTE] to apply
changes.
3-12) To effect changes, please turn the power off and on.
(When machine is restarted, EX4558 RMS Unit Abnormality 2 alarm may be occurred.)

4. Media Viewer function
4-1) Display Media Viewer and then press [MEDIA CHANGE] to select a NETWORK DRIVE (Q:).
5. NC PROGRAM (PUNCH / READ)
5-1) NC programs will be read from / punch out to the network shared drive.
