HOW TO ENABLE THE MODBUS SERVER ON THE CS8 EMULATOR

To use Modbus on the CS8 Emulator just as it is used on the CS8 Controller, a Modbus
server most be created in you PC. The CS8 Emulator cannot create a Modbus server, use
Direct Link 3.9 to create a Modbus server in your PC. Once the Modbus server is running in
your PC, you can launch the emulator and communicate with an external Modbus client.

1 – Use Direct Link 3.9 to create a Modbus Server

1.1 Start Direct-Link / PC Network Interface 3.9 / Console

Create a local configuration (ex. ModbusServer) and add SW1000ETH local board

Right click on the new board and select properties:


-Select protocol TCP/IP Client
-Select Modbus TCP/IP message type as property of “canal 0”

After TCP/IP node is create with your PC IP address

Select « Modbus Generic » equipment


- Unselect « parameter link »
- Change Equipment number to 000
- Change IP address to Windows default for host: 127.0.0.1

Click File Menu / Board Initialization to start Modbus Client software

In task bar you can see the board icon. In demo mode it runs for 60 minutes.

Now you can close Applicom Console
