media cultures, and lifestyle.

- Different societies have varying views on what makes life meaningful. According to a study by
Pew Research Center. Religion is not one of the top 10 sources of meaning cited in non-American
societies, with no more than 5% of any non-American public mentioning it. In contrast, 15% of
Americans mention religion or God as a source of meaning, making it the fifth most mentioned
topic. The study also found that the United Kingdom, Australia, France, New Zealand, and
Sweden place a relative emphasis on nature compared to many other places surveyed, with
nature being one of the top eight sources of meaning in each of these countries. Hobbies and
activities are also revered by many in the UK, with around one-in-five mentioning their hobbies
as something that gives them satisfaction in life, ranking only behind family and friends. Religion
and education have a long-standing relationship, with religious groups being foundational in
fostering societal attitudes toward education.

Historically, universities were built by Christian denominations to educate their clergy and lay
followers. Most of these institutions have since become secular in orientation, but their
presence may help explain why populations in the U.S. and Europe are highly educated. Religious
groups also have great influence on education in some Islamic countries. Media culture and
media education are also important topics in modern society. A study by offers practical
guidance for the development of media culture and media education into school curriculum.
Meanwhile, a study by the Journal of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing found that the use of
social media and technology has a great impact on the lifestyle and socio-cultural of its users.
The study uses quantitative research methods to examine the effect of technology use and social
media on lifestyle and cultural changes.

The globalization of media has provided individuals with the opportunity to learn about diverse
cultures across the world. This has helped them to reach beyond what is local and conventional
and adapt to new cultures. However, post-modernists have been criticized for exaggerating the
influence of global media, as people across many cultures still consider their nationality,
ethnicity, traditions, and beliefs to play a significant role in their lives and identities. Media can
significantly impact society by enabling individuals to access information and shaping their
worldview.
