Letter of intent

Dear Sir/Mam,
My decision to pursue graduate studies is underscored by my desire to be a part of the PhD
program in Botany. My interest in Botany was blossomed during my High School years. So
Botany, as my major, and was the first choice for my undergraduate studies. The subjects I
studied including Recombinant DNA technology, mycology, bacteriology and virology,
environmental biology, plants ecology, Ethno Botany, molecular biology, biostatistics,
biochemistry, plants systematic, diversity of non-vascular plants, cell biology, biodiversity and
conservation, plant breeding and genetics, paleoecology, food technology, palynology, medicinal
plants, Anatomy of vascular plants, plants physiology and these subjects truly help me shape a
solid base in plants science. These laid the foundation for my graduate courses in Botany at
Department of Botany, ABDUL WALI KHAN UNIVERSITY MARDAN KPK a well-known
University in Pakistan and worldwide.
I worked on “Floristic study of palai dam, tehsil tangi, district charsadda.” In MSC and
“Allelopathic Potential of Green Synthesized Silver Nanoparticles of Adiantum capillusveneris
L.” in M.Phil and completed this program in December 2022. I have wrote 2 research paper in
the relevant field (ready to publish soon). Although I have also published one paper
"CUTANEOUS LEISHMANIASIS IN PESHAWAR REGION, KHYBER-PAKHTUNKHWA
PAKISTAN." https://www.jptcp.com/index.php/jptcp/article/view/3600 " In collaboration.
Personally I spend more time in study because I am a lecturer in a private college namely
Quaide-azam college Mardan, and I have full command on all subjects related to Botany
however I am keen interested in Plant Ecology, Plant physiology, Plant Biodiversity, Plant
nanotechnology and Allelophaty, Although, I am flexible in terms of research interest and also
want to explore other areas. During my graduate study at Abdul Wali Khan University I had
come across several scientists. Most of them work in different areas of Botany. Interactions with
them had made me realize the vastness and scope of these researches. My discussion with them
convinced me to do my PhD in these fields.
About my previous research work
During my academic journey, I have investigated deeply into the intricate realms of ecology,
focusing particularly on floristic composition during my Bachelor's studies and allelopathy in my
M.Phil endeavors. Exploring floristic composition allowed me to understand the intricate
relationships between different plant species within ecosystems, and how their distribution and
interactions shape the ecological dynamics of various environments. This foundational
knowledge provided me with a solid understanding of biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.
Transitioning to my M.Phil studies, my focus shifted towards allelopathy, a fascinating
phenomenon where plants release biochemicals that influence the growth, survival, and
reproduction of neighboring plants. Through rigorous research and experimentation, I explored
the mechanisms and ecological implications of allelopathic interactions, gaining valuable
insights into plant-plant interactions and their broader ecological significance.
My academic journey in both floristic composition and allelopathy has equipped me with a
comprehensive understanding of ecological principles and processes. I am eager to apply this
knowledge to contribute meaningfully to furthering our understanding of ecological dynamics
and fostering sustainable environmental practices.
About my research interest
In my research activities, I will be performed green synthesis protocols using plant extracts.
Natural sources like plant extracts, are used as stabilizing and reducing agents in green synthesis
processes. In comparison to harsh chemicals and solvents, making the process more ecologically
friendly. Because of their antibacterial and biocompatible qualities, green-synthesised silver
nanoparticles have demonstrated potential in a range of biological applications. They have
applications in targeted medicine administration, wound healing, and diagnostic imaging.
Silver nanoparticles are efficient against a variety of bacteria due to their potent antimicrobial
characteristics. Silver nanoparticles are also utilized in cosmetics, textiles, and packaging
materials. Toxic chemicals, which can have negative impacts on the environment and human
health, may be used in traditional chemical processes. Green synthesis techniques are often safer
for researchers and end users since they employ fewer or no harmful ingredients.
Moreover, I have collaborated with researchers and professionals in the field, participating in
seminars and workshops to stay abreast of the latest advancements in green nanotechnology.
This collaborative spirit has enriched my perspective and honed my ability to engage in
interdisciplinary dialogue—a crucial skill for navigating the complexities of contemporary
scientific research.
Why I have selected Shandong University and Shandong University Scholarship for Outstanding
International Students
Given its excellent track record for academic achievement, Shandong University might provide
courses or research opportunities that match my interests and professional aspirations. The said
scholarship may reduce the financial burden of studying overseas, increasing international
students' access to and affordability of higher education. Gaining a scholarship from a prominent
university such as Shandong University can improve your profile both professionally and
academically, leading to new chances. Joining the foreign student community at Shandong
University gives me the chance to network with professionals, academics, and classmates from
different backgrounds.
My academic, professional, and personal goals ultimately drove my decision to apply for the
Shandong University Scholarship, which probably reflects a combination of these elements.
Best Regard Sincerely,
Siraj Ud Din
