Determinant of A 4 by 4 Admittance Matrix Using Partitioned Matrices
It is often convenient in matrix manipulation to partition a matrix into submatrices. The original algebraic operations
are then carried out in terms of the submatrices (block matrices). In selecting the partitions, it is necessary to make
sure the submatrices (block matrices) are conformable for the mathematical operations in which they are involved.

The determinate of a triangular partitioned matrix is equal to the product of the determinants of the diagonal block
matrices.
