Phase 1: Focused Start with Key Resources (2 weeks)

Duration: 2 weeks
Objective: Begin with foundational resources and work on high-priority
subjects.

- Week 1-2:
- Main Tasks (1-1.5 hours daily):
- Therapeutic Guidelines of Australia (TG): Start with the most
important clinical scenarios for Operative Dentistry, Paediatrics, and
Periodontology. Focus on case-based scenarios since these are highly
relevant to the exam.
- TG’s chapters on Dental Caries, Fluoride Use, and Preventive
Care.
- Odell Clinical Problem Solving in Dentistry: Focus on the chapters
related to case-based reasoning in Operative Dentistry and Paediatrics.
- Infection Control Guidelines of Australia: Review critical sections on
infection protocols.
- Articles: Find and read 2-3 relevant Australian Journal of Dentistry or
British Dental Journal (BDJ) articles on key subjects (operative
techniques, paediatric care, or periodontics).

Phase 2: Core Clinical Subjects and Scenario-Based Learning (10


weeks)
Duration: 10 weeks
Objective: Deep dive into high-priority subjects using TG and Odell,
focusing on MCQs and scenario-based questions.

Week 3-4: Operative Dentistry and Paediatrics


- Operative Dentistry (1 hour/day):
- Focus on restorative techniques, caries management, and material
sciences.
- Read TG guidelines for operative procedures and Odell’s case-based
examples.
- MCQs: Practice case-based MCQs using TG and Odell to solidify
learning.

- Paediatrics (1 hour/day):
- Cover child behavioral management, fluoride use, and preventive
care.
- Read relevant TG chapters and Odell’s problem-solving cases.

Week 5-6: Periodontology and Infection Control


- Periodontology (1 hour/day):
- Use TG to study periodontal disease management, surgical
techniques, and pharmacology.
- Odell’s problem-solving in advanced periodontal cases.

- Infection Control (30 minutes/day):


- Read the Infection Control Guidelines of Australia, focusing on
sterilization and cross-infection protocols.

Week 7-8: MCQ Focus and Article Review

subjects—operative, paediatrics, and perio.

- Prioritize scenario-based learning, and practice writing or explaining
answers.

Phase 3: Mock Exams, MCQ Practice, and Final Refinement (6


weeks)
Duration: 6 weeks
Objective: Refine knowledge, take mock exams, and reinforce high-yield
topics.

Week 11-12: Mock Exam 1


- Daily Tasks (1.5 hours):
- Mock Exam: Take a full-length, timed practice exam, focusing on
clinical cases.
- Review Mistakes (1 hour): Cross-check missed questions with TG and
Odell.

Week 13-14: Focused Article Study + Case Reviews


- Daily Tasks (1.5 hours):
- MCQ Practice (1 hour): Use case-based MCQs from past exams and
question banks.
- Article Study (30 minutes): Read BDJ/Australian Journal articles on
operative techniques and paediatrics.

Week 15-16: Final Review and Light Study


- Daily Tasks (1-2 hours):
- Light Review: Summarize important concepts from TG, Odell, and
infection control guidelines.
