BrainDance

The BrainDance, a set of activities created by Anne Green Gilbert, is often used into our CDC lessons. It
consists of eight different types of movement that all healthy infants go through throughout their initial
year of life. It's a kind of moving meditation that helps you find your center so your brain can get some
fresh air and go back to work. The BrainDance helps us develop good study habits and social graces.

Brain-Compatible Dance Education Principles

1. Present curriculum with intellectual information for a greater level of comprehension.


2. Provide a multimodal environment to strengthen neural connections and improve memory.
3. Provide constructive, timely, and precise comments to facilitate good improvement.
4. Incorporate chances for emotional involvement; emotions and learning are interconnected.
5. Encourage social engagement; children learn best when they collaborate and are coached by
their peers.
