Chapter 3: Simple Resistive Circuits
1. a) In the circuits shown in the following figures, find the equivalent resistance seen by the
source.
b) For each circuit find the power delivered by the source.

2. Find the equivalent resistance 𝑅𝑎𝑏 for each of the circuits in the shown figure.

3. Find the equivalent resistance 𝑅𝑎𝑏 for each of the circuits shown.

4. Find the power dissipated in the 5 Ω resistor in the current divider circuit shown.

5. For the current divider circuit shown calculate


a) 𝑖𝑜 and 𝑣𝑜 .
b) the power dissipated in the 6Ω resistor.
c) the power developed by the current source.

6. Specify the resistors in the current divider circuit shown to meet the following design criteria:
i g = 50 mA ; v g = 25 V ; i 1 = 0.6i 2 ;
i 3 = 2i 2 ; and i 4 = 4i 1.

7. Find v1 and v2 in the circuit in Fig. using voltage and/or current division.

8. Use a Δ -to-Y transformation to find the voltages 𝑣1 and 𝑣2 in the circuit shown.

9. Find 𝑖𝑜 and the power dissipated in 140Ω the resistor in the circuit shown.

10.Use a Y-to- Δ transformation to find the voltage in the circuit shown.
