Within these pages, not only do I provide you with information I've gained
from my years of knowledge and experience as a Naturopathic Physician, but
I also reveal how I personally experienced (and thrived) during my
Meno(pause) Transition. More powerful are the journeys of the thousands of
women I've worked with who were traveling the road you are on. I know these
methods work because I have walked alongside these women as they bravely,
passionately, and successfully navigated the Meno(pause) Transition.

eat organic broccoli. That's great. But, do you rush through your day
with nothing left over for yourself, so exhausted that you stop by a
fast food drive-thru on the way home? Kind of negates the positive
benefits of the organic broccoli. See what I'm getting at?
On the other hand, being real with yourself gives you the opportunity
to do things differently. You allow yourself to (pause), reflect, and
breathe. You can start to develop strategies and habits that allow
you to create healthier habits that don't drain you (effectively
working against you). You now have space to visualize what your
life's journey can look like, and what you want it to look like.
If you're reading this, your menstrual cycle has either already ceased, or is in the process of
ceasing. With meno(pause) your body is no longer releasing blood to the Earth every
month. This requires the body to make some huge changes in the way it works which
impact every single area of your life. Instead of viewing this as an ending, let’s make this
transition mean something deep and powerful, allowing you to feel alive and full of
passion.
Even though every woman must travel the Meno(pause) Transition journey, every woman's
journey doesn't have to be the same.
The PAUSE Method allows a truly unique experience. I use it with my patients and
students and I want to share it with you...On the following pages, we'll go through the
PAUSE Method letter by letter.
To know where you are going, you have to know where you are.
Taking a self inventory is where the PAUSE method starts. Here are
some questions for you to think about. Be kind and gentle with
yourself - this inquiry is a journey - don't expect all the answers to
come at once.
What are some of your proudest moments? Remember big & small
moments matter!
Where do you find yourself stuck? Like the get me out of this
quicksand kind of stuck!
What do you desire? This may be the most difficult question of all.
Often, as women, we find it scary to dream because they don't seem
possible, or we don't put ourselves first. Go ahead and give yourself
permission to DREAM!

Getting this all out on paper is the first step in creating a roadmap
for this new sacRED path of your life. The self-reflection you just did
is the foundation that will allow us to proceed through the other
steps of the PAUSE Method from a place of confidence and
awareness.
Now we'll take a look at the physical body. It's important to keep in
mind that our realization of our desires and dreams are going to be
the foundation of all of our physical health expressions.

The nice thing about genetic testing is you only have to test once
because your genetics will not change. But the roadmap it provides is
invaluable.
The health of our immune system relies on gut health. Your large
intestine is home to your gut biome and it hosts more than 1000
species of bacteria. These bacteria perform vital functions including
shaping the immune system, influencing the metabolism of nutrients,
fortifying the intestinal mucosal barrier (gut barrier) and more. It is
important to know the abundances of the bacteria that symbiotically
live in the human gastrointestinal tract because imbalances in the gut
microbiome may lead to gastrointestinal symptoms, skin conditions,
autoimmune disorders, immune system imbalances, and multiple
inflammatory disorders.
It’s not a question anymore of if you actually are toxic. Unfortunately, the
question has become how toxic are you and what is your body doing
about it? The truth is we are being exposed to toxins 24-7. Using testing to
determine which toxins are in our body is vitally important to coming up
with a comprehensive and successful healing plan for you.
The list above should give you an idea of the limitless ways we can be
exposed to, and react to, toxins in the environment. We all are affected on
some level by toxins.

Let me give you an example. Let's say a patient has their annual
checkup and their cholesterol level has significantly dropped (for no
known reason). While many would be excited with this finding, and
celebrate it, I know that it can be a sign of increased free radical
activity and a clue that cancer is developing.

This is the fun part of the PAUSE process. This is when I ask you the
magic wand questions that I ask my patients. Ok...Imagine you are my

As you can see creating your RED Hot Sexy Meno(pause) life is some
serious business. But is there anything better to invest your time, energy
and resources into than YOU? Your health is truly your wealth and I want
you to be a freaking Gazillionaire!
If you are having trouble in any of these areas, it's time to take a moment
to reflect on your passions and desires and make adjustments, as needed,
to get back on track. Revisiting the "U" step in the PAUSE Method is a
good way to remind yourself what you want and how important it is for
you to continue taking care of yourself and making yourself a priority.
This means we must make a commitment to our health and all that we
have embodied. We must commit to quarterly or yearly testing of our
physical markers depending upon our own personal needs. We must
make our own health and well-being a priority, especially in times of
stress, because this is often a time when good habits are the first thing
to go. We must follow through with our eating plans, our sleep routines
and our supplemental intake of good vitamins and minerals. We must
embrace the philosophy that aging gracefully is a privilege and
something we can never take for granted.
Many years ago I was sitting with my then office manager trying to
figure out what a good brand name would be for my work in the world.
It took about 5 minutes of her just staring at me until she said it has to
be RED - everything about you is RED - your hair, your lips, your energy
and at first I laughed but then I thought about all the healing work I do
with color and about the power and potential of embracing RED.
RED is all about action, energy, movement, passion and being a force of
nature in the world. It is also about love because self-love is at the core
of everything I embrace and teach.
I know this mindset works and hope you will use it to create and live the
life you desire and deserve!
So I invite you to dismantle the absurd belief that as you age things
fall apart. It is true that as you age, things will fall apart if you don’t
take care of yourself, if you eat a bunch of s*%t, if you don't move
your body, rely on pharmaceuticals, etc. but if you embrace a
naturopathic healing lifestyle and let me guide you with the correct
testing to understand what is happening in your body then there is
no reason for things to fall apart. As a matter of fact, for the first time
in your life things might begin to fall together.
It’s not enough to just look good on the outside and have organs that
are functioning properly. We MUST address our spirit to fully heal and
shine our brilliance.
If you are eating a pristine organic diet but are still pissed off at your ex
for hurting you then that is going to interfere with the benefits of that
pristine organic diet. There is an interconnection between our
emotions and our physical body. Did you know that a congested liver
can create anger and on the flip side unresolved anger can create liver
issues? The same goes for grief and the lungs, fear and the kidneys,
control and the colon, worry and your spleen. Almost 95% of your
thoughts are subconscious so this means you may think you aren’t
angry but there may be some unresolved issues that are running your
show.
You are a wise woman, even though your inner child may still be
running the show. This means that trauma you experienced as a child
- no matter how big or how small - can be contributing to the
decisions you make about the world around you. This is an amazing
opportunity to go back and heal that little girl so the queen that you
are can step up and take charge. You are transitioning into what I
believe is the wisest time of your life. I really want YOU to own and
understand that wisdom comes with age.
Once we have reinvented our health, and explored and healed our spirit,
we get to be clear on our purpose, our passions and what we want to
contribute to the world. We get to embrace our Sexy. And what is sexy
for you may not be what is sexy to me or anyone else. Sexy is much more
than big boobs, a juicy butt and red lips (although, hey I love my red
lipstick!) Sexy is how you move, how you think, how you engage, and
whatever else you want it to mean. It’s an individual definition and I am

I consciously work on my life every day. Thinking about all of the things
