VISA INFORMATION

The visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue (not the date you
enter Kenya), but may be renewed for a further 90 days while in
Kenya. Visitors must enter Kenya before the expiry date of the
visa.

EXEMPTION OF VISA FEES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 16 YEARS

Children under 16 years of age accompanying their parents to Kenya


are exempted from paying visa fees.

Duration of visa processing


Visa processing takes 2 days. Normally, an applicant will be advised
at the time of applying on when to pick up their passport within this
time frame.

The Consular Section is open from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from
Monday through Friday

PAYMENTS FOR SERVICE


The Embassy will now be receiving all payments for all applications
through bank transfers. The Embassy’s bank details are as
follows:­

Once payment is deposited in the Mission’s bank account, customers


are required to provide the bank slip to prove payment.

VISA APPLICATION

The following are visa requirements for the various visas issued at the
Embassy:­

SINGLE ENTRY VISA FOR HOLIDAY/BUSINESS OR VISIT

 Duly filled Application form;


 Travel Itinerary;

 For Business trips a letter from partner company in Kenya


informing about the meeting to be attended;

 Original Passport with validity of not less than 6 months;

 One passport size photo;

 Fee: € 40.00 (Please see Embassy Bank details);

 Self­addressed, stamped, and registered envelope for return


of passport if required.

TRANSITVISA

Valid for 72 hours. Since the visa is valid from the date of issue all
visitors can get the visa on arrival in Kenya. This visa is required for
visitors who leave the airport or seaport for the specific purpose of
travelling to a third country (i.e. to await a connecting flight, to await
boarding a cruise ship, or to travel overland to a neighboring country).

Requirements:
 Passport valid not less than 6 months;
 Fee: € 20.00.

DIPLOMATIC, OFFICIAL, AND SERVICE VISITS

Issued to holders of diplomatic, official and service passports on


official visits to Kenya

Requirements:

 Duly filled Application form;


 Original Passport with validity of not less than 6 months;

 Note Verbal from Ministry/Organisation;

 One passport size photo;

 Fee: Gratis;

 Self­addressed, stamped, and registered envelope for return of


passport.

EAST AFRICAN TOURIST VISA

This visa is to be issued for tourists needing multiple entries to Kenya,


Uganda and Rwanda for a period of 90 days, for tourism purposes
only. Applicants must first be entering Kenya in order for the EATV to
be issued by the Kenya Embassy.

 Original Passport with validity of not less than 6 months;

 One passport size photo;

 Fee: € 80.00 (Please see Embassy Bank details);

 Self­addressed, stamped, and registered envelope for return


of passport if required.

MULTIPLE JOURNEY VISA

This visa is only valid for business people who are able to prove that
they have entered Kenya at least 3 times in a calendar year.

Requirements:

 An application letter from applicant explaining why a multiple


entry visa is needed;
 A letter from the company/organization confirming your
employment and reason for frequent travel;

 A letter from partner company/organization in Kenya the


applicant will be doing business with or invitation letter, stating
reasons for need of this visa;

 A copy of your passport and additionally copies of past Kenyan


visas issued;

 A duly filled Visa application form;

 Two (2) Passport size photos.

This application requires approval from the Office of the Principal


Immigration Officer Nairobi, Kenya. In case the visa is approved
(which is not guaranteed), the applicant can then present him/herself
at the Embassy with the following:

 Passport/travel document;
 Fee: € 80.00 (Please see Embassy Bank details);

 Travel itinerary from the travel agency/copy of the ticket.

REFERRED VISAS

Requires approval from the Office of the Principal Immigration Officer


Nairobi, Kenya

Requirements:

 Two(2) duly filled Application forms;


 Two(2) copies of the passport with validity of not less than 6
months;

 Two (2) passport size photos;

 Two(2)Copy of residence/work permit;

 Two(2) copies of court decision (Bescheid);

 Application letter explaining reason for visit to Kenya;

 Invitation letter from company/University/individual living in


Kenya indicating exact residence address, and attach a copy of
their Kenyan ID;

 Non Refundable Application Fee: €10.00;

 Processing time: 6 to 8 weeks or more.

Note: Do not make travel arrangements unless the approval has been
granted.

In case the visa is approved (which is not guaranteed), the applicant


presents him/herself at the Embassy with the following:

 Passport/travel document;
 Fee: € 40.00 (Please see Embassy Bank details);

 Travel itinerary from the travel agency/copy of the ticket.

Note: The above list is subject to changes.

All foreigners holding blue or grey Travel Documents (Reiseausweis


für Ausländer) not issued by their own country of nationality,
including recognized refugee holders of the United Nations Refugee
Travel Documents.

Please note the following:


Nationals of the countries listed above, and holders of a refugee travel
document, may be issued with a visa upon application at the Embassy
if they are attending an official meeting in Kenya of an international
organization of which Kenya is a member state. Nationals of
Cameroon, Mali & Senegal who are holders of official, service or
diplomatic passports AND are travelling on official business, receive a
gratis visa upon application.

Countries whose nationals do not require visas if specific


conditions are fulfilled
 Brazil: only holders of official, service and diplomatic passports
travelling on official business;
 Iran: only holders of service and diplomatic passports travelling
on official business and staying for maximum 30 days;
 Malaysia: maximum stay of 30 days;
 New Zealand: maximum stay of 30 days;
 Turkey: only holders of official, service and diplomatic passports
travelling on official business.

GRATIS VISA

A gratis visa is issued to all holders of an official, service or


diplomatic passport, who are travelling on official business. This
includes nationals from Cameroon, Mali & Senegal.
Nationals of these three countries who hold ordinary passports must
apply for a referred visa; see the information on types of visas and fees
for the application procedure.

Please note:
Nationals of all other countries which must apply for a referred visa
cannot receive gratis visa. (See the information on types of visas and
fees for the list of countries.)

Holders of official, service or diplomatic passports who are travelling


for private reasons cannot receive a gratis visa.
Holders of a laissez­passer issued by one of the organizations
listed here below, while on official business for the organization
in question, and upon presentation of an official document from
this organization:
 European Union (EU);
 United Nations (UN);
 International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank;
 International Labor Organization (ILO);
 African Union (AU);
 Preferential Trade Area/Common Market of East & Southern
Africa (PTA/COMESA);
 Inter­Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD);
 African Development Bank (ADB);
 Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA);
 International Red Locust Control Organization for Central &
Southern Africa (IRLCO);

 Desert Locust Control Organization (DLCO);
 African Airlines Travel Association (IATA);
 Environment Liaison Centre International (ELCI);

HEALTH

Immunization against yellow fever is only compulsory for travelers


over one year old that enter Kenya from Central and Western African
or Central and Latin American countries where yellow fever is still
endemic. Taking of anti­malaria medication is strongly recommended.

VACCINATION CERTIFICATE

a) There are no mandatory immunizations required for Austrian,


Slovakian and Hungarian residents wishing to visit Kenya. However,
immunization against typhoid, yellow fever and cholera are
recommended.
b) Anti­ Malaria Pills should be taken particularly if the visitors will be
travelling to the Western and Coastal regions of Kenya.
