1. Fixed Bias. Determine the following

2. Fixed current Bias Network. For the given fig below.

3. Common Base Configuration. The npn transistor of Fig 1 has the emitter characteristics of
Fig 2. If the emitter current is -10 mA and the collector-base voltage is 15V, estimate the
emitter-base voltage. If 𝛼 = 0.96 and the collector cutoff current =0.01 mA, estimate the
collector current.

4. Load line analysis
a. Draw the load line for the network of Fig 3 on the characteristics for the transistor
appearing in Fig 4.
b. For a 𝑄-point at the intersection of the load line with a base current of 15µ , find the
values of 𝐼𝐶 𝑄 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑉𝐶𝐸 𝑄
c. Determine the dc beta at the 𝑄-point

5. Self-Bias. Determine the dc bias voltage 𝑉𝐶𝐸 and the current 𝐼𝐶 for the following

7. Current mirror. Calculate the current 𝐼 through each of the transistor 𝑄2 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑄3 in the
circuit of Fig 5

8. AC analysis. In the amplifier of Fig given below 𝑉𝐶𝐶 = 15𝑉 𝑎𝑛𝑑 the quiescent point
𝑄 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝐵 = 𝐼𝐵 = 0.1𝑚𝐴 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑣𝐶𝐸 = 𝑉𝐶𝐸 = 9𝑉. Specify 𝑅𝐿 and predict the current gain
and output voltage for an input current 𝑖𝑖 = 0.05𝑠𝑖𝑛𝜔𝑡 𝑚𝐴.

9. AC analysis. The silicon BJT of Fig 7 is used in circuit of Fig 6 𝐼𝐵 = 0.1𝑚𝐴 , 𝑅𝐿 = 2 𝐾𝑖𝑙𝑜 −
𝑜ℎ𝑚, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑉𝐶𝐶 = 20𝑉
a. Estimate 𝛽 from the graph, and predict 𝐼𝐶 at the Q-point.
b. Reproduce the collector characteristics and draw the load line. Determine 𝐼𝐶
graphically.
c. Find 𝐼𝑐 for 𝑖𝑖 = 0, +50 𝑎𝑛𝑑 − 50 µ𝐴.
d. If 𝑖𝑖 is a sinusoid varying between +50 𝑎𝑛𝑑 − 50µ𝐴 .Find 𝐴𝐼 and write an expression
for 𝑖𝐶 (𝑡).
