I. OBJECTIVES
• Define figures of speech (Personification and hyperbole;
• Use figures of speech as an expression;
• Construct examples of figures of speech.
A. Content Standard
The learners demonstrate their multi literacies and communicative competence in
evaluating Philippine literature (poetry) for clarity of meaning, purpose, and target
audience as a foundation for publishing original literary texts that reflect local and
national identity.
B. Performance Standards
The learners analyzed the style, form and features of Philippine poetry (lyric, narrative,
dramatic): evaluate poetry for clarity of meaning, purpose and target audience; and
compose and published an original multimodal literary text (poem) that represents their
meaning, purpose, and target audience and reflects their local and national identity.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Figures of speech (Personification, and hyperbole).

Materials: laptop, LCD monitor, whiteboard marker, Canva.


Reference: Department of Education Matatag Curriculum EN7LIT-I-1

lot of kinds but for today we are
going to discuss two of those which
are the hyperbole and
personification.

This time class please get your
phones because we are going to
play a game called “lagyan mo ng
label’’ (source- Sarame Shii).
What you need to do is first scan
the QR code that I presented and
play the there. What you need to do
is to simply identify what kind of
figures of speech is the following.

IV. ASSIGNMENT
Search the definition of simile and metaphor. Write down at least 5
examples each.
