AFFIDAVIT OF WITNESS

I, Angelo K. Santos, 21 years old, single, resident of Barangay Iraan, Aborlan, Palawan,
after having sworn in accordance with law, do herebt depose and state THAT:
01. I was present and personally saw that accused, John Mark Ulla committed
the crime of Violence Against Women and their Children against the victim Liza
Soberano;

02. On September 15, 2024 around 11:00 PM while I was watching television, I
saw the accused, John Mark Ulla driving a red Honda Civic car arrived at their
house.

03. On around 11:30 PM on the same day, I heard sounds of loud voices coming
the accused and the witness’s house as if they were having an argument.
Several minutes have passed I heard unpleasant noises of things being thrown
around their house, there were also sounds of their kids crying. These things
caught my attention, I came into my senses and stood up from my couch. I
immediately went outside straight to their house, there I saw the accused
beating the weaker victim which is his wife.

04. After witnessing all of these, I tried to talk to the accused begging him to
stop but he didn’t listen to me, personally I didn’t even think of trying to stop
him by myself because he is a lot bigger and stronger then me that’s why I
decided to seek the help of the Barangay by calling them through my cellular
phone. After a few minutes three Barangay Tanods arrived at the place and
immediately stopped the accused from his aggression. The victim and her kids
got rescued with the assistance of the Philippine National Police through which
later arrived at the scene.
I executed this affidavit to attest the truthfulness of the foregoing facts and to support
the filing of Criminal Cases against John Mark Ulla for violations of Republic Act 9262:
Violence Againts Women and their Children.
