Venus Cañeda Permejo

An Autobiography

My name is Venus C. Permejo. I was born on November 27, 2004. I grew up in the province
of Leyte in the town of Tolosa in Barangay Quilao. My family's home is located near the street,
where the bustling sounds of various vehicles can be heard both day and night. I am the second of
three siblings. My father, Ronaldo Q. Permejo, is from Tolosa, Leyte, and my mother, Girlie C.
Permejo, is from San Miguel, Leyte. My father raised my siblings and me by himself after our
mother passed away in December 2013 due to illness. In spite of that sorrowful event, my father was
able to raise us and meet our needs, and my family was still able to move forward.

I took my elementary education at Daniel Z. Romualdez Memorial Elementary School

(DZRMES), located in Brgy. Imelda, Tolosa, Leyte. I was able to learn the multiplication table
because it was recited by all elementary students during the flag ceremony. I used to play 'chinese
garter', 'tumbang preso', 'patintero', and other Filipino street games after class. I enjoyed the youthful
innocence and optimism of that era. I attended Tolosa National High School for both junior and
senior high school. My high school is located in Brooklyn. Malbog, Tolosa, and Leyte. My senior
high school strand was HUMSS. Throughout high school, I was an honor student. I enjoyed
mathematics in high school, which is one of the reasons I chose it as my major in college.

I am a student at the Eastern Visayas State University Tanauan Campus (EVSU-TC). I am

pursuing a Bachelor of Secondary Education with a major in Mathematics. My decision to major in
mathematics was inspired by the fact that my high school advisers were mostly mathematics teachers
who were excellent at imparting their knowledge of the subject to students like myself.

I want to finish college and pass the licensure examination so that I can work as a teacher. I
want to help my family and repay my father, who bravely accepted the responsibility of being a
single parent. I also want to save money so that I can travel to different places around the world,
particularly Hawaii. I have watched a lot of videos about Hawaii, and seeing how beautiful it is has
become my dream destination. I aspire to be able to visit Hawaii.

My hobbies include singing, reading fictional stories, and drawing. I would sing while doing
chores, writing, or drawing. I read books, but I read more on my phone; I especially enjoy fictional
stories that are heartbreaking. I enjoy drawing random lines and curves until they form a figure of an
imaginary character that I create in my mind.

Aside from these facts about myself, I still have a future to look forward to and changes to go
through, but all of my experiences will remain with me because they are a part of me. As an
individual, I am constantly learning new things about myself and my life. I am striving for a better
life while remaining grateful and enjoying it. Life is a process that I continue to go through, unable to
predict its end. I simply want to learn lessons from the past and present, enjoy the present, and wish
the best for the future as I go on with my life.

I am human, and I have memories, a story, a life, and an ending. I will continue to write my
story and be the main character in my own life until the very end.
I created an autobiography, which is a type of prose. The reason for writing this
autobiography is to give people an idea as to who Venus Cañeda Permejo is. I included basic
information about myself, my alma mater, my college course and the inspiration of taking the course,
my dreams and goals, my hobbies, and how I perceive or think about myself. Through this, I get to
talk about some facts about me that could be helpful for other people to know me; it is like sharing a
piece of me. And while I wrote this, I got to know myself again, and I can't wait to learn more about
myself.
