Some BASIC CONCEPTS

Galvanic Cell/Electronic Cell:


It is a device in which Chemical Energy or
Gibbs Energy change of a spontaneous
Redox Reaction and is converted into
Electrical Energy by keeping the oxidation
and reduction parts of a reaction physically
separated.

Oxidation Potential:
The tendency of an Electrode to loose
electrons or get oxidized is called oxidation
potential.

Reduction Potential:
The tendency of an electrode to gain
electrons or get reduced is called reduction
potential.
