MIDJOURNEY

MidJourney is a powerful artificial intelligence (AI) powered tool that transforms text
into images. You enter a "prompt" (a descriptive string of words) and the AI language
analyzes the text you enter and then outputs an image by diffusion.

What you get in return for the prompt you enter is a completely new product that
never existed before.

Among other popular AI options (like Stable Diffusion, Dall-E 2, Craiyon, NightCafe)
what sets MidJourney apart is multiple algorithms (V3, V4) and custom parameters
(quality, style, chaos), so much variety from a single idea It really allows you to
achieve. Plus, you can create literally thousands of images per month on the
Standard Plan.

If getting started is intimidating, don't stress, read this helpful MidJourney guide and
become a master!

MidJourney runs Discord, a popular chat app. If you don't have an account yet, skip
ahead and sign up for free. It may seem repulsive at first, but you'll get used to it!

Make sure you're signed in to Discord and accept the MidJourney Invitation. I highly
recommend signing up for the $30/month Standard Plan after your trial (or typing
/subscribe to Discord and follow the link).

If you don't want all the clutter of a public channel while working, you can create your
own Discord Server, invite MidJourney Bot, and do all your work in separate channels.
You can create channels for #projects, #test, #help and #images to keep things
organized. However, your images and prompts will still be publicly available on the
MidJourney website, but you can pay more for the Private mode where you can
publish or unpublish images.

You can immediately switch to comfortable mode by typing /relax in Discord. I suggest
you do all your work in relaxed mode, then switch to /fast mode only for max boost or
if you're really in a hurry. In /relax mode, the images are free, so you get endless
renders!

This guide reaches over 500 pages with professional prompts shared on page 116. Please
do not think that the number of pages is small when evaluating. A separate effort is spent
on each. Thank you very much in advance for your feedback. :)

This product is for personal use. It cannot be copied and resold. Please respect the
effort put in. Otherwise, legal proceedings will be initiated!
BEGINNER COMMANDS
/help > Entering this command displays a host of useful information to help you get
started: links to GitBook, tips, and more.

/subscribe > Trial period is over and you still want more? This command will send you
a link that will take you to the MidJourney subscriptions page.

/info > Displays user information, pictures made, whether relax or fast mode is
enabled, remaining GPU hours, items in progress, etc. shows.

/fast > Fast mode, fast results but counts against your working hours, so be careful!

/relax > Slow mode renders slower but takes hours and is unlimited.

/imagine > Click the master code to send a prompt, then “prompt:” and after that type
your visual ideas. This is the one we will use the most.
/settings > Set default settings such as version, style, quality, relaxation mode. The
settings you make are global. You can also use parameters in prompts such as --
version or --quality. Then they only apply to a single prompt.

/stealth or /private > If you pay for a Pro Subscription, entering this command will
make all your work on the MidJourney website private, visible only to you.

/public > If you are in Incognito Mode, you can turn it off with this command and make
your work visible to everyone.

When you enter a prompt, the completed images are returned as messages in a grid.
It reads like a book, with the numbers 1 and 2 on the top and the numbers 3 and 4 on
the bottom. Then you can use various buttons to make variations or luxury.

↻ > Returns the same prompt, new seed is used so all images are different.

V1 > Makes variations for the first image, it will make 4 more images based on the
selected image so they will look similar but different.

U1 > Raises the initial view and may change some of the view for better or worse, but
that's where the later high-end options come into play.
PROMPT
A prompt is a sentence of text that Midjourney Bot interprets to create an image.
Midjourney Bot is used to render words and phrases in a prompt. A well-crafted
prompt can help create unique and exciting images.

Example : /imagine prompt : a cute fluffy

bunny grumpily working on her trip
itinerary

STYLE
You can specify the types of stylistic effects you want to use in your prompts. It can be
a technical style, an art medium, an architect, a painter, a photographer, an art
movement, an aesthetic, a decade-old style, a mood, or even just some colors.

Example : /imagine prompt : a cute cartoon

itinerary, by pixar
PARAMETER
Aspect Ratio
The --aspect or --ar parameter changes the aspect ratio of the generated image. An
aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of an image. It is typically expressed as two
numbers separated by a colon, such as 7:4 or 4:3.

Different Midjourney Version Models have different maximum aspect ratios.

v 4c v 4a & v 4b v3 test/testp niji

such as
Only: 1:1,
Ratios 1:2 to 2:1 16:9 or 5:2 to 2:5 1:2 to 2:1
2:3 or 3:2
1920:1080

The --ar parameter will accept any aspect ratio from 1:1 (square) up to the maximum
aspect ratio for each model.

prompt example : /imagine prompt: cute dog art --ar 2:3

--ar 3:2 --ar 2:3

--ar 1:1
Chaos
The --chaos or --c parameter influences how varied the initial image grids are. High -
-chaos values will produce more unusual and unexpected results and compositions.
Lower --chaos values have more reliable, repeatable results.
Low Chaos Values
Using a low --chaos value, or not specifying a value, will produce initial image grids
that are slightly varied each time a Job is run.
prompt example : /imagine prompt: pineapple penguin hybrid

High Chaos Values

Using a higher --chaos value will produce initial image grids that are more varied and
unexpected each time a Job is run.
prompt example : /imagine prompt: pineapple penguin hybrid --c 50

Very High Chaos Values

Using extremely high --chaos values will produce initial image grids that are varied
and have unexpected compositions or artistic mediums each time a Job is run.
prompt example : /imagine prompt: pineapple penguin hybrid --c 100
NEW UPDATE VERSION 5
What truly sets Midjourney Version 5 apart from its predecessors is the level of detail
and accuracy it brings to photorealistic images. The depth and richness of the images
he produces is truly astounding, and the range of aesthetics he can evoke can
astound even the most discerning art aficionado.

/describe :
With Midjourney version 5, the developers have added a really fun (and useful)
command:

Describe! While MidJourney is essentially an AI that converts text to images, the new
/describe command now lets us convert from image to text in a prompt-like format.

This can be fun just to play around with, but it can also be useful for coming up with
new terms for images you love but can't get on Midjourney. But remember, this is not
always reliable.

Assuming you are not a graphic designer, you may not be familiar with graphic design
terms. Here you can find the terms related to graphic design in the photo you shared
by using the /describe command. I worked with an example like this.

I did a text-to-image work with the following prompt.

/imagine prompt : An icon for a minimalistic logo by experienced digital artist for a
cleaning mop and spray bottle brand/company, designed and illustrated by a
professional digital artist. The icon features a simple, clean design with pastel colors,
created using digital art techniques. The icon is rendered in flat vector style and has a
comic/doodle aesthetic. The icon is placed against a solid white background and is of
high quality and resolution. --v 5 --no mockups --q 2
Then using this image I asked Midjourney to prompt me for this image and here is the
result!

It gave me 4 prompts. And with these prompts, I got the following images;

/imagine prompt : hand wash bottle icon /imagine prompt : an illustration with a bottle
vector line, in the style of pastel-colored of liquid, in the style of colorful washes,
scenes, kilian eng, use of precious clean line work, light azure and pink,
materials, domestic scenes, shiny/glossy, petcore, personal iconography, domestic
cute and colorful, clean line work --q 2 scenes, clean and simple designs --q 2

/imagine prompt : a cleaning bottle with /imagine prompt : a set of soap dispenser and
cleaning liquid on the counter, in the cleaning spray icons, in the style of light blue
style of simple, colorful illustrations, and pink, kilian eng, bold, cartoonish lines,
rococo pastel, linear illustrations, strong white background, domestic scenes, strong
use of negative space --q 2 use of color, simple, colorful illustrations --q 2

I think it was fun. I recommend you to try it too.

Super Wide :
With version 5, you can use any wide aspect ratio. While other aspect ratios are
generally more useful, you can do a lot of interesting and artistic things with these
crazy wide frames.

3:1 → Kinda Wide (–ar 3:1)

4:1 → Super Wide (–ar 4:1)
5:1 → Super Duper Wide (–ar 5:1)
6:1 → Holy Cow Wide (–ar 6:1)
8:1 → Woah Dude Super Wide (–ar 8:1)
10:1 → Oh Shit Thats Wide AF (–ar 10:1)

/imagine prompt : photography of cross section of city street --v 5 --ar 3:1 --q 2

1:3 → Kinda Tall (–ar 1:3)

1:4 → Super Tall (–ar 1:4)
1:5 → Super Duper Tall (–ar 1:5)
1:6 → Holy Cow Tall (–ar 1:6)
1:8 → Woah Dude Super Tall (–ar 1:8)
1:10 → Oh Shit Thats Tall AF (–ar 1:10)

/imagine prompt : photography of

cross section of city hospital --v 5 --ar
1:3 --q 2
The No Parameter
The --no parameter will tell it to prevent anything you specify from being added to the
AI-generated image.
prompt example : /imagine prompt: colorful ball --no red
