5. You can adjust by sliding the little toggles until you can have the right balance
of black and white. There is no exact numbers to be followed in this step. Slide
this first toggle to the right until the image gets even a little bit darker. Then
slide the middle toggle to darken the image. Then the right toggle adjust to the
left.
6. Select the whole image by going up to select all or ctrl + A for the shortcut.
7. Copy the whole image by going up to select copy or ctrl + C for the shortcut.
8. Create a channel by clicking the channel panel then select the paper icon to
create new channel.
9. We have now an alpha channel. Then paste the image by going up to edit paste
or use the shortcut ctrl + V.
10. Then after pasting the image we will deselect it by going up to select deselect or
ctrl + D invert it by going up to image adjust and then invert or ctrl + I.
11. After inverting, the image turns into like a negative copy of our photo.
12. To go back to its original photo just click the RGB channel then click
layers. This is now our working layers.
13. Next step is we will fill the entire image white and to do that make sure
that your color palette is black in the foreground and white in the background.
14. To fill go up to edit and fill or for the shortcut Shift + f5 or Shift +fn+f5.
15. Now for this we choose background since the background palette is white.
So we now have a white image.
16. We will now create new layer with just the black outline by clicking the
paper icon.
17. We will add the black outline by going select then load selection then we
will select the channel that we create by selecting alpha 1 channel.
18. So we can now see the black outline and to fill this with black by going up
to edit then fill or Shift + f5 or Shift +FN+f5 then select foreground. Then
deselect or ctrl +D
19. Create a separate layer, select background and select the icon for new
layer.
