G7 PHYSICS WORKSHEET

CH- MOTION AND TIME

LEVEL- 1

1. The clocks and watches which are used for measuring time are based on

(a) rotational motion

(b) circular motion
(c) periodic motion
(d) Both (b) and (c)

2. What do you understand by the terms ‘uniform speed’ and ‘non-uniform

speed’?
A) If an object covers equal distance in equal interval of time it is moving
with a uniform speed.
If the speed of a body is changing with respect to time it is moving with
a non-uniform speed.

3. Write the functions of speedometer and odometer.

A) Speedometer is a device which is used to measure the speed of the
vehicles.
B) Odometer is used to measure the distance covered by a vehicle.

CH- MOTION AND TIME- LEVEL- 2
1. The time period of a simple depends upon the

(a) weight of the bob

(b) length of the pendulum
(c) both a & b
(d) none of these

2. The following figure shows the distance-time graph of three objects (D, E
and F). What can you say about the motion of these objects?

A) Object D- As the graph is a straight line, it indicates object D is in

uniform motion. It is moving with a constant speed.

Object F - As the graph is a curved line, it indicates object F is in non-

uniform motion. That means its speed is not a constant.

Object E- If the graph is parallel to X axis, it indicates that object is

stationary. So Object E is not moving or it is at rest.
3. a) Define time period of a simple pendulum.
A) The time taken by the pendulum to complete one oscillation is called the
time period of a pendulum.

Time period = Total time taken

Number of Oscillations

b) A simple pendulum takes 42 s to complete 20 oscillations. What is the

time period of the pendulum?

A) Number of oscillations = 20
Total time taken = 42 s

Time period = Total time taken = 42 = 2.1 s

Number of Oscillations 20

LEVEL- 3
1. The maximum speed of a car is 180km/h. What is the maximum speed in
m/s?
(a) 20 m/s
(b) 30 m/s
(c) 50 m/s
(d) 60 m/s

Speed =180km/h
1 km = 1000 m
1 hour= 60 x60 s
Speed = 180 x 1000 = 50 m/s
60 x 60
2. Rajiv takes 10 minutes to reach the post office from his house on a rickshaw.
If the speed of rickshaw is 3 m/s, calculate the distance between his house
and post office.

A) Speed of the rickshaw = 3 m/s

Time = 10 minutes = 10 x 60 = 600 seconds

Distance = Speed x time

= 3 x 600
= 1800 m
= 1800 m = 1.8 km
1000

3. The graph given below is the distance-time graph of the motion of an object.
(a) What will be the position of the object at 20 s?
(b) What will be the distance travelled by the object in 12 s?
(c) What is the average speed of the object?

Ans) (a) 8 m
(b) 6 m
(c) Average speed = total distance travelled
Total time taken
= 8 m/ 20 s
= 0.4 m/s
