Course Description .
“Entrepreneurship” introduces students to a framework for solving problems and finding ways to
sustainably finance those solutions.
Over four weeks, students will learn the fundamentals of initial design thinking, customer
discovery, wireframing, user testing, business development, interactive prototyping, digital
marketing, and ultimately creating business solutions The course culminates in presenting a
startup pitch deck.
Learning Objectives
● Problem Solving: Learn and practice how to solve problems and use that mindset and
skill-set in both professional and personal endeavors.
● FInance-Thinking: Learn and practice creating good finances and use that mindset and
skill-set for building economic empowerment within the family and community.
● Understand the Fundamentals of UI/UX Design: Learn the key principles that contribute
to effective user interfaces and user experiences.
● Develop Wireframes and Prototypes: Create basic wireframes and evolve them into
interactive prototypes that demonstrate app functionality.
● Presenting: Learn how to effectively and persuasively communicate business concepts
and investment potential.

Instructors
Grading Policy
Students will be assessed via their participation, quizzes, and final team projects/presentation.
Understanding of concepts will be evaluated on the quizzes and final exams using a percentage
based approach.

Fall Attendance Policy
General Expectation:
Attendance is mandatory for all scheduled classes. Each student is expected to attend each
session every day. If you are absent more than 7 days, no matter the reason, you will be dropped
from the course and result in failure.
Unexcused Absences:
An absence without prior notification and approval or valid documentation will be considered
unexcused.
4 are allowed, a 5th unexcused absence will result in a drop from the course & a fail.
Excused Absences:
1. Excused absences are permitted for the following reasons:
- Illness (must be accompanied by a doctor’s note if absent for more than one day)
- Family emergency (e.g., bereavement, critical illness of a family member)
- Pre-approved educational activities (e.g., academic competitions, college visits)
- Religious observances
