Detailed Lesson Plan in Reading and Writing Skills

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
a. identify the types and steps involved in the brainstorming process
b. appreciate the value of collaboration and teamwork in brainstorming process and;
c. demonstrate problem-solving skills by applying brainstorming techniques to
address societal issue.

Everybody stand, let us start our day with a
prayer first.
Before you take your seats, kindly pick up
those pieces of papers under your chairs and
arrange your chairs properly. Thank you class,
you may now take your proper seats.

morning?
None ma’am.
That's great! Glad to hear that all of you are
here today this means that all of you are
willing to learn something new today. Give
yourself a 5 claps to that.
Let us have the deliberation of the classroom
rules first. I am going show some picture and
then you are going to share your thoughts to
your classmates what you have understood to
the picture.

The game will present you with four pictures
that have something in common. Study the

Brainstorming is a group activity technique by
which efforts are made to find conclusion
for specific problem by gathering list of ideas
spontaneously contributed by its members.
There are rwo types of brainstorming:
Individual Brainstorming- Individual
brainstorming, also known as solitary
brainstorming or solo ideation, is a creative
problem-solving technique that involves
generating ideas or solutions to a specific
problem or question on your own, without the
presence or input of others. It is a personal and
introspective process that allows individuals to
explore their thoughts and ideas freely without
any external influences or distractions.
Group brainstorming is a creative problem-
solving activity where a group of people come
together to generate ideas and solutions for a
specific problem or question. It's like a team
effort where everyone shares their thoughts and
suggestions to find the best possible solution.
The aim is to encourage collaboration, diversity
of ideas, and build upon each other's suggestions
to come up with innovative solutions. Group
brainstorming allows for different perspectives
and can lead to more creative and effective
outcomes compared to brainstorming alone.

Buzz Session – A buzz session is a type of group


discussion or meeting where participants engage
in lively and energetic conversations to generate
ideas, share opinions, or brainstorm on a specific
topic or problem. It is a dynamic and interactive
session designed to encourage active
participation and foster creativity.

During a buzz session, participants are


encouraged to speak up, share their thoughts, and
actively contribute to the discussion. The
atmosphere is typically informal and energetic,
with a focus on generating a buzz of ideas and
fostering collaboration.
Buzz sessions often involve structured activities
or prompts to guide the discussion and keep it
focused. These activities may include group
exercises, brainstorming sessions, problem-
solving activities, or sharing personal
experiences and insights.

Understand the assigned problem: Read and
understand the problem assigned by the teacher.
Conduct the brainstorming session, during the
session, gather the ideas and solutions to address
the problem or the societal issue, create a
supportive and inclusive environment where all
group members feel comfortable sharing their
ideas.
