Please find below the details for the Preliminary round which will be held on 15th
November,2022, Tuesday.
1. The Preliminary round will now take place on a Virtual Zoom platform on the 15th of
November, instead of 17th of November. This has been done keeping in mind the teams from
outstation, which have to make certain travel arrangements.
2. The subsequent rounds will take place offline, in the school premises on 19 th November.
3. The topic for the competition will be disclosed 1 hour 15 minutes before the commencement
of the competition and not a day prior as mentioned before.
4. The teams will be given different Breakout rooms which will be shared via mail and
WhatsApp on the morning of 15th November.
5. This format involves four teams, representing four different schools, comprising two speakers
each. Two teams will propose the motion and the other two will oppose the motion. This will be
decided by the draw of lots on the day of the competition.
7. The REBUTTAL will take place as per the sequence mentioned during the Precursory round.
8. The competition will be conducted on three tracks comprising TEN virtual break out rooms.
The details for the same will be shared on 15th November morning by 7:00a.m.
9. All the relevant links to access and join the session will be shared via Mail.
10. It is mandatory for the participants to share their video along with their audio during the
rounds, so it is requested that a device with a functional camera and microphone is used.
11. Link for joining the meet as well as pairing and match up of teams will be done by the
organizers and shall be shared via mail before the event on 15 th November.. The Break-out
rooms of the participants will also be shared on the same day.
12. Participants are requested to join their respective Break-out rooms, 15 minutes prior to the
commencement of the event through the link which shall be provided to them.
13. During the prep time, participants are requested to keep their videos on and be on mute.
14. The time allotted to each speaker will be 4 minutes. A warning bell will be rung at the end of
three minutes and a final bell at the end of four minutes.
15. Participants are requested to strictly adhere to the time limit provided. Exceeding the time
limit would incur penalties on scores. The duration, however does not include the time for the
rebuttal.
16. The teams who qualify shall be intimated via the mail id’s of their respective schools.
