Final Assessment Instructions:

You have been tasked to manipulate team data to create visual charts and/or
calculations, that your team can use to display statistics about your current and past
employee database. The report will demonstrate both graphical and numerical formats,
years of service, annual salary analysis, without or without bonuses, and a visual
display of the countries and cities these employees are located in. You will create charts
to display results based on Gender and Job Titles. Include all the formulas, functions
and formats listed below along with any additional formats you see suitable to create
your report/s and make it unique to you.

Complete the following steps in the order in which they


appear.
· Open Excel_Final_Assessment_Employees.xlsx & save in your
documents folder with the name Employees_Assignment_(Your last
name-Your Student Number).xlsx
· On the Employees worksheet autofit the contents as needed
· Apply Cell style Heading 1 to A1-N1
· Convert your data to a table using Green Table Style Medium 14 (Be
sure to indicate your data has headers)
· Using custom sorting options, sort the employee list first by Job Title, in
descending order, and then by Country in ascending order, and then by
City in ascending order. (Ensure you are using “custom sort under the
Sort & Filter options, and be sure to indicate your data has headers)
· Apply % format to the range K2:K1001
· Add the title “Days of Service” to cell O1, creating a formula in the
remaining range to calculate how many days each employee has been
with the company as of their hire and exit dates. Hint: Use the DAYS360
function. (copy this down to the rest of the column)
· Filter the data to show only those employees from Canada. Copy only
the data table showing with this filter and paste it to a new worksheet
(use paste special values & source formatting) Name the worksheet
Canadian Employees
· On the Canadian Employees worksheet, filter the data to show data
from the city Brandon only, then create a Pie chart showing the
Departments and Annual Salary Move the Pie Chart to a new worksheet
called Charts.
· Using the data from the Canadian Employee worksheet create a pivot
table displaying the following criteria on a new worksheet called Pivot
Tables.
· Department in the Columns
· Gender in the Rows
· Annual Salary in the Values
· Age as a sub-Row
· Apply the accounting format to the annual salary field.(use the Value
Field Settings-Number Format)
· Collapse both genders, and City to the Columns as a secondary filed.
· Collapse all Departments.
· Change the style of your Pivot table to “Light Orange” 17
· Create a pivot chart based on the results in your current pivot table.
This should be a 3D Clustered Bar Chart, placing the top left corner into
cell, A16 and the bottom right corner in cell I33.
· Filter the City field in the chart to remove Toronto and Nanaimo.
· Add data label call outs and change the chart style to Style 3.
· On the Employees worksheet filter the data to display Shanghai China
only.
· On the Employee ID worksheet starting in L9, use VLOOKUP to find
what department each employee ID works in. (remember to use cell
references not the ID number)
· On the Employee ID worksheet staring in L16, use the AVERAGE IF
function to determine the average annual salary for both Female and
Male. Apply Currency format with 0 decimal places to your results.
· Add your name to the title field in the File Properties and your Student
number under the subject field.
· On the Employee Worksheet Using conditional formatting, Add Blue,
White, Red Color scale to the Days of Service Column.
· Apply conditional formatting to the Business Classification column to
highlight in Yellow Fill and Dark Yellow Text, all Corporate Employees.
· Save your work and upload your completed file to the Assignments
folder in Blackboard.
