Dialogue 1: Discussing Ideal Flats

Narrator: You will hear two friends talking about the type of flat they would like to live in.
Boy: Wouldn't it be amazing to live on the top floor of that block with views across the 1________?
Girl: Nice views are great, but I'm not fond of 2________. I'd prefer being on the ground floor. Plus, it’d be
convenient to live near a 3________ stop.
Boy: Or near an 4________ station.
Girl: Exactly! But the most important thing for me would be to have my own 5________. So, I’d need a
three-bedroom flat.

Dialogue 2: Changing Schools


Narrator: You will hear a boy telling his friend about changing schools.
Girl: I haven’t seen you in a while! How are things at your new 1________?
Boy: Well, before moving at the beginning of January, I thought it’d be hard to make new 2________, but
everyone’s given me a warm 3________. I miss my friends from my old 4________, but I can’t change that.
Surprisingly, my 5________ are going better than I expected, so the move hasn’t been as difficult as I
thought.

Dialogue 3: A Trip to the Beach

Boy: How was your day out?
Girl: Great! The bus left early on 1________, so I had to wake up at 5 a.m., but it meant we arrived at the

Girl: I thought about it, but the water was too 4________. Instead, we rented a small 5________ and sailed
around the bay.

Dialogue 4: Life in a Small Town


Narrator: You will hear two friends talking about the town they live in.
Girl: It's a pretty good place to live, especially for a 1________ town.

especially at night, but here, you feel 4________ everywhere.
Girl: True, but the 5________ are always so busy here, and the noise and pollution in the mornings are

Boy: I’m not familiar with this part of town. Where’s the best place to buy a 1________?
Friend: The small shop on the 2________ isn’t bad. The selection is limited, but the 3________ are
amazing compared to the bigger stores.

Friend: Yes, they have almost everything, but it's always 5________, and there are long queues because
they’re short on staff.

Dialogue 6: Talking About Homes


Narrator: You will hear two friends talking about their homes.
Boy: I like my 1________, but I don’t have much space for my 2________.
Girl: Mine’s just the right 3________, but I get what you mean. My shelves and cupboards are way too
4________.
Boy: At least I have big 5________, so my room gets plenty of sunlight.

Dialogue 1: School Books
Narrator: You will hear a boy and his mother talking about his school books.
Boy: Mum, where shall I put my old school books from last 1________? I've hardly got any 2________ for
them all, so I need to get rid of some.
Mum: Well, they are sometimes 3________ when you want to check something, but Harry's mum asked
me if we could let him have them this year. You know he's in the 4________ below you.
Boy: That's not a bad idea. I can always borrow one back if I need it.
Mum: All right, just put them in the 5________ in the hall for the moment, and I'll call Harry's mum to pick
them up.
Boy: OK, Mum.

Dialogue 2: Helping at Home


Narrator: You will hear a boy telling his friend about helping at home.
Boy: Hi Luke. Shall we go into 1________ this morning?
Luke: I'd love to, but my mum wants me to help her move stuff. She's clearing out the 2________, and she
can't do it by herself. We're going to look through all the old 3________ of photos and toys. I'm actually
looking forward to seeing what's there.
Boy: It would be quicker if Jack helped, but he says he has to study for an 4________ at a friend's house.
Luke: Yeah, my brother's always got an excuse too!
Boy: I think it is true this time! We can meet 5________, OK?

Dialogue 3: Mountain Trip


Narrator: You will hear two friends talking about a trip to the mountains.
Girl: Hey Pete, are you coming on the trip to the 1________ tomorrow?
Boy: Well, I told Mr Brown I could go, and I even bought some new walking 2________, although I think
they're a bit small, so I’ll have to change them, but my parents won’t let me go.
Girl: Why not?
Boy: They're away for the 3________, so they want me to stay with my 4________. I got the wrong day
when I told them about the trip, and now I can't change anything.
Girl: That's a pity. Get those boots for the next 5________!
Boy: I will.

Dialogue 4: TV Series
Narrator: You will hear two friends talking about a TV series.
Girl: I saw that new 1________ last night. It was amazing!
Boy: I know! It's really interesting, isn't it? The family situation is quite true to 2________ - in fact, they're a
bit like my family sometimes!

Girl: You're not serious! They have too many 3________ to be true, but I agree the brother and sister play
their parts really well.
Boy: Yeah, I think they're 4________. I'm looking forward to the next episode. I want to know what happens
in the end to their friend who 5________.

Dialogue 5: New House


Narrator: You will hear two friends talking about a house.
Girl: So, how’s your new 1________?
Boy: Well, it's OK. My sister and I have got our own 2________, and my dad has put a gym in the garage
with an exercise bike and other 3________.
Girl: Wow! That's great!
Boy: Yeah, but I prefer going out on a bike, and now we live on a busy main 4________, I can't just ride
down the street with friends like I did when we lived in our old house. But at least I can 5________ home
for lunch.

Dialogue 6: New Video Game


Narrator: You will hear two friends talking about a new video game.
Girl: What do you think of the new 1________?
Boy: It's great. I got to the fourth 2________ and I managed to build a castle to protect my soldiers.
Girl: Did you? I can't get past the third level. What do you have to do to move up?
Boy: The trick is to collect the 3________ at the beginning. Then you'll have enough to make a 4________
in the third level so that you can cross the river.
Girl: Ah! I thought collecting 5________ coins was better.
Boy: I think that's important for the next level.
