OBJECTION HANDLING

1.Why do you guys charge 3.5 lacs when there are other courses in the market
charging just 50k ?

Do you believe time is money ? You give me time or money is the same thing right.

Let us compare your graph with someone like who you want to be at an increased CTC
and better position and company. Can you tell me what could be the reason behind you
not being there? What have they done differently?
1) May be studied in better institute(that would have definitely been more priced)
2) Had better exposure to things(they definitely spent that premium to get that exposure)
3) Had access to the mentors who definitely charge as nothing comes for free.

Today they are at better CTC/COMPANY/POSITION in their life as they spend on quality
in initial stages. When I say spend it’s not just money it’s also time and effort.

Please understand this is what you lacked and now again compromising on the quality
aspect is only going to cost us our future’s Quality Career.
It’s always the best coaches who produced the best students in history. And that's what
we are here for. Scaler’s students are undoubtedly the best in the market today than any
other institutes that you may be comparing to. And instead of comparing the offerings of
each institute compare the alumni and their profiles and their success ratio your answer
is right there. We intend to shape up careers rather than waste individuals time/effort or
money.
NOTE: Always add value to the fee part and then only pitch this.

2. I have friends/brother/mentor in a product based company who are guiding me, I

don’t need a scaler academy.

It’s wonderful to know that you have some guidance in your life which is rare. Many of
your friends/classmates/colleagues are not having this luxury to have people from your
target companies.

Can I ask you one question: you believe that these people were in your life for the past 5
years . Then how did it happen that despite their guidance you haven’t landed the desired
outcome? While they are at much better positions. Don’t you think your colleagues in your
current company have reached the same position as you without this sort of guidance as
well.
Do you really feel that in this world without paying/firm commitment of any sort, someone
else will take the responsibility of your career and ensure you end up at your dream job?
Am not saying those are not your well wishers, am sure they are but they are not
responsible for your future they might not be that accountable when things fail. At the
end of the day, the onus is not on them but you.

Also please understand Mentorship is just a part of your journey, understand for eg: you
have a car and you have to travel 1500 km to achieve your destination. The fuel in it
can be the Mentorship but when the car breaks down due to any other reasons apart
from fuel how will you cover up to meet your destination. Who will solve your doubts and
who will teach in a holistic approach to you ?

I know we have all made this mistake in our life’s when we are kids. Whenever we had a
doubt in a subject we always asked that friend who studied well rather than the lecturer
who is much better in terms of giving you the right knowledge. But growing up is getting
to know there is no better way to learn things from the master/coach itself rather than
the best student. That makes a difference between the person you are vs the person
who you aim to be.

3. I need a program which is shorter in length, giving 9-12 months is too long of a
commitment for me.

I totally understand where you come from with this but hey your dream company is
google/amazon/microsoft right ? Are you aware how long the interview process goes for
such companies to finalize you and give you those fancy CTC’s ? Any guesses?

It takes 25 - 45 odd days for them to select you and around 7 - 8 (sde 1 - sde 3) , 10- -
12 rounds (sde3 - architect) rounds to select one person and every round is an
eliminator.

You think a 3 - 5 months prep would be enough. You can have this process in your mind
when you want to just crack a company somehow using some tricks. But please realize
your goal is not to just crack some company but also to go there and show your skill
amongst the high end individuals and compete with them for your success.

4. I have time issues (personal commitment/ professional commitment ) and won't

be able to give time to this program.

Honestly speaking, looking at the kind of activities you're doing on the platform (free
product / multiple masterclasses attended ) you definitely are investing some or the
other time in terms of upskilling yourself. It’s not the issue of intent or time, it's just
consistency issue as you fear that after committing to this what if someday you have not
given time to understand you can always cover up and if not now how will you ensure
doing this in future and how sure that you will have time.

Tell me when was the last time in your entire work experience you thought you had time
to do anything . Come on, I have 7 years exp. I never felt that. You have to always
hustle to achieve what you need that never comes at a comfort zone. Compromise
sleep/fun times that’s when you can achieve. Is your Comfort Zone bigger than your
Career Goal?
What is your login/logout time...? So, the issue is not about time, it's about time
management and that’s what we need to learn. God has given 24 hours to everyone, it’s
up to us how we make them more productive. The IT industry is a very dynamic industry,
if you don’t upskill you don’t grow. If you want to crack the product based company
interview, you eventually have to upskill yourself, the only question is WHEN.

6. I will go for certifications (like Cloud computing, AWS, Scaler Academy ), no need
for DSA or system design.

Hey can I ask you one question off beat. You remember we used cassettes to listen to
music/ and video and then we transitioned to CD’s and then to Pendrive/memory cards.

Imagine I had a company that was a cassettes manufacturing unit. Now based on trends
I had to upgrade my unit to CD’sand then to pen drives . Don't you think it's burdening
me with constant changes. Which would affect my business.

Now tell me you are saying that I will learn a technology (like cloud or AI) or a product/
tool like AWS/AZURE/SALESFORCE/SAP these are the things that keep changing and
you will have to keep adapting to that and change the entire past experience to this. Do
you think its a viable solution for a long career that you want to have in life? OIr rather
would you like to take up that role that doesn't get affected with changes around and any
experience you have in that role will not get wasted.

7. I need just System Design, I already know DSA.

Can you tell me how many companies have you changed till date ?
Assuming 3 , Can you tell me your role was based on java for example had always been
same right Did you ever feel the kind of work that you have done in 1st company was
the same as the second ? If the answer is NO then how are you sure that you already
know DSA as you have only known it through your experience and you have not
informed me of any holistic approach of you learning DSA.

Please understand you need a stable growing knowledge approach to gain the highest
of your potential. The pathway can not be broken. Idea is not to just learn Array, Linked
list etc. for that youtube/udemy is already available. Remember your goal is to crack
interviews for product based companies. There would be times when you might get the
right output and still get rejected in an interview. Your code took 1.57 seconds to run, but
the recruiter knows that the best optimal soln is in 0.9 seconds. They want to check your
optimal soln is in 0.9 seconds. They want to check your approach, problem solving
ability. They want to see if you understand the problem statement, identify the corner
cases at the very start or are you just taking a hit and trial approach. So the idea is to
have that knack for optimal solution, have that “INTUITIVE PROBLEM SOLVING
ABILITY”, which helps you crack the initial 3 technical rounds of any product based
company. There is a difference between building a system and making a scalable
system. There is a difference between making zomato for 100 people and making
zomato for 1 million people

10. Need more time to think, I will do some research and then make my final
decision. (post psych is done) Or I will enroll for upcoming batches, when is the
next batch starting?
This usually happens due to two reasons - learners intent and process not being clearly
mentioned on the first call - first call is NOT strong enough. In a situation like this rather
than pushing the learner to pay/ go for a trial period, get back to basics. Counseling first
will only help here where you ask him why had he come to the platform in the first place-
backtrack everything. Definitely the learner believes that the price is not justified, so
follow up by asking him how much would he pay for a product like this (you will get an
understanding regarding what is the worth of this product in his eyes) and continue by
asking him why would you pay this much - let him answer so you understand what hes
looking for. Talk about his requirements and align it to his current situation- and how
important is it to achieve this? Need generation and repeating his pain points will help.
The facts will remain the same today, tomorrow and a year from now. However, he will
be losing time, gaining experience, remaining stagnant with his skills and thus reducing
his market value in that time. Overthinking will not make this situation any better.

Research/ upcoming batch also means he does not have enough faith in this platform
and YOU. Rather than helping, you have possibly sounded salesy at some point which
has made him have second thoughts even though he is quite interested ( that is why he
has come to the psych ). Counseling will only help. The moment the learner feels that
you are more interested in in selling rather than him buying, you have lost the game.
Back up all your statements with facts - like linkedin profiles, testimonials and try not to
let him talk to others around. That will confuse him more and the entire process will look
more salesy.

11. I carry a lot of years of work experience, I don’t think the program would be
relevant for me.
I guess we are talking about you reaching the best potential here that has nothing to do
with experience. Here when we are planning to upskill i believe it’s the matter of what
skills need to be acquired that has nothing to do with your current exp. In the IT industry
it’s forever learning job roles and I am sure even you don’t consider yourself to be the
best version of yourself as of today and would want to learn to be at a better position.
We don’t enroll people on the basis of work experience rather enroll them on the basis
of skillset.

12.Have interviews scheduled, will give them first and then look towards scaler
academy.

Can you tell me one thing, work at your current company is very smooth or challenging?

If no then for the company that you had been working only you have challenging days and
now you want to move to some new company to only increase those challenges that
exhausts your time to increase your potential ?

Understand, work-life balance getting affected and work being very challenging is not the
sign of a bad company or environment, it's the lack of skill set. Not understanding the
problem and solving other things wont help unless you solve the real problem. The idea
behind joining Scaler is not just to land a job but primarily to improve on your existing skill
sets. This doesn’t change or get impacted with you landing another job instead makes it
necessary for you to not survive in yet another company but excel.

13. Why mentor sessions are once in 15 days.

Mentors are your guides not tutors. They are here to guide your journey, give you better
perspectives. Understand, they are working professionals themselves so they cannot
provide quality feedback that very extensively. For everyday issues you face, you have
TAs.

14. Do you have 100% placements..?

NO

As per KPMG report it’s 93.7%.

Not everyone who joins scaler wants a job change, some enroll to increase or improve
their skill set. Some join to climb the professional ladder in their current company while
some join to be part of the community. Scaler is essentially not a job hunting platform but
rather an upskillment platform.
