You are on page 1/ 33

These are called credentials:

You have to ask for credentials when you join a company, whether you join as a consultant or as an end user.
You have to get the credentials to access to the client system.

WITHOUT THEM, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO ACCESS.

Login credentials, instance number, system ID everything. In case of end users, if they are joining any company
in end user IT department will share these details along with their mail ID. They will send it to your official mail ID.
Maybe if they are giving laptop, they will add everything before giving it to the concerned individual.

Today we will see how this will be added in our SAP logon.
We’re not seeing in this course how to install this software. You can watch that on YouTube.
You have to add the all entries here. Now, these are dummy details, not real, but for our understanding. Go to
logon application, click on new entry.
Click on inventory. Click next. This is.

This is Development.
And System ID is DEV

In a few cases, you need a router string. This is nothing, but it will be like this only again, it is an IP address. Only
if you have any IP address, just enter here.
And the system automatically adds the /H/s
There. We created one.
And the same process, now for Quality

And now, Production.

Next step is to login into SAP. Here, these won't work because these are dummy details only.

Click on this one.

Logon looks like this:

Here, we have to input the client number whether you are logging into. Whether you are logging into
development, Client quality, Client and production client. This we already discussed in previous session.
Language is English by default. There are about 40 languages in SAP..

SAP Easy Access screen:

See this is easy Access Screen Implementation guide.

So now coming to this one. This is called a Menu Bar. Standard Toolbar.
Application Bar. Command Bar.

Try to identify all of them right here:

Now, what is a session?

It is not possible to open beyond six sessions.

Here, we have two open sessions:

Two ways to open a new session. Either from Menu Bar:

More specifically, in System  Create Session:

Or rather, from this button up here:

Let’s go for a seventh one:

And if you want to close them, go with “End Session”:

How to move from one Session to the other:

He says the material will be available in notes. Just watch the videos once and don’t type down anything.

What is Transaction Code (TC) in SAP?

You can enter the codes up there:

It is not case sensitive.

We type in FS00 and here we can create General Ledger Accounts:

We now open another session:

XK01 – Vendor Master:

XD01 – Creating the Customer:

Remember that Customer means, in other words, BUSINESS:

And Consulting is at the right.

So now if the customer, for example, in I have one company, I implemented SAP in my company. I want one
report. This report. Let us assume this report. The standard report. Whatever the reports are given by the SAP are not
meeting my requirements. What I did, I asked my consultant to develop a new report.
So, what they did, they created one new report. They copied this original report and they made changes as per
my requirements. And it is working fine.

But, how do we access the old report. Here come Records into the picture.

Okay, then how to give the codes to how to assign the codes to the reports. That is a concept here. So,
whenever a SAP, customer or purchaser wants to give their own t codes for their custom developments, it should start
with the either Y or Z.

That means if I copied this report and I did changes as per my requirement, I have to prefix either z or Y like this
z, z, b, L3N.

Then to access this, to access this, you have to enter z f, b, L3N like this. So wherever you see z n e t codes
starting with Z or Y, that means that are specific to that company only.

For example, you are working as an end user now you are regularly using in your company. ZL3N.

You joined another company.

There you are expecting Z three and code, but you won't find the Z313 in there.

The reason is that the Z codes white quotes are company specific and customer specific that you have to
understand clearly.

These are called Z codes?

NO. THESE ARE NOT Z-CODES.

This is the G/L screen:

And here, you can see the T-Codes, by clicking on transaction:

The green button is the BACK BUTTON:

But there’s a shortcut: Forward, slash, n. /n

And it takes us back to SAP easy access screen:

Here it is explained:
This is how you activate

But there’s ANOTHER way to access these codes. And it involves this menu:
Go to Accounting  Financial Accounting:

And then General Ledger. All the way here:

There you can read the code. Remove this checkbox and see what happens:

All codes disappear as a result:

Do that in reverse if you want the codes to appear, if they were to be missing.

How to set start transaction window.

Now let us assume I am an accountant. What is my job? Daily I have to come to office and I have to post the job.
Only I don't have any other. Means my job is posting the jobs only.

And here, he says something about an accountant working only with “fb50”

Set Start Transaction

/nex to close all sessions at the same time.
And then, you would have to login again.
