Day 1 Assignment-1

3. Write the name of a topic which you cover in your class. Also name the discipline.*

Ans:- Stability of Control System, Electrical Engineering.

4. Write five instructional objectives on the topic.

Ans:- There are five instructional Objective on the chosen above topic are

(1) Analyze control system stability using Routh-Hurwitz criterion to determine system
stability.

(2) Apply Nyquist criterion to evaluate control system stability in frequency domain.

(3) Assess stability margins using Bode plot techniques for control systems.

(4) Determine control system stability using root locus methods.

(5) Evaluate stability of control systems using Lyapunov's direct method.

5. Identify the condition and criteria w. r. t those Instructional Objectives.

Ans:- The following Conditions and Criteria are written below on the basis of listed
instructional objectives.
(1). Analyze control system stability using Routh-Hurwitz criterion to determine system
stability.
Condition: Given the characteristic equation of a control system.
Criteria: Correctly apply Routh-Hurwitz criterion to determine if the system is stable,
marginally stable, or unstable.
(2). Apply Nyquist criterion to evaluate control system stability in frequency domain.
Condition: Provided with the open-loop transfer function of the system.
Criteria: Accurately plot the Nyquist diagram and determine system stability based on
encirclements of the critical point.
(3). Assess stability margins using Bode plot techniques for control systems.
Condition: Given the Bode plot of the system.
Criteria: Correctly identify gain margin and phase margin, and determine the system's
stability and robustness.
(4). Determine control system stability using root locus methods.
Condition: Given a transfer function of the system.
Criteria: Accurately construct the root locus plot and determine the stability of the system for
different gain values.
(5). Evaluate stability of control systems using Lyapunov's direct method.
Condition: Provided with a state-space representation of the system.
Criteria: Correctly apply Lyapunov's direct method to determine system stability by
constructing a suitable Lyapunov function.
6. Identify the domain of learning of each objectives.
here are the domains of learning for each of the instructional objectives:
