SECTION-C
(This section comprises of short answer type-questions (SA) of 3 marks each)

1. Find the area of the region in the first quadrant enclosed the x-axis, the line y = x
and the curve x 2+ y 2=32 .
SECTION−D
( This section comprises of long answer type questions ( LA ) of 5 marks each )

1. Using integration, find the area of the smaller region bounded by the circle
x 2 + y2 = 4 and the line x + y = 2.
2. The area of the region bounded by the line y=mx ( m> 0 ) , the curve x 2+ y 2=4 and the
π
x−¿axis in the first quadrant is units. Using integration, find the value ‘m’.

3. Make a rough sketch of the region
{( x , y ) :0 ≤ y ≤ x 2 +1 ,0 ≤ y ≤ x +1 , 0 ≤ x ≤2 }and find the area of the region, using the
method of integration.
4. Find the area under the curve y = above x-axis from x = 0 to x = 2. Draw a
sketch of the curve also.
5. Find the area bounded by the curve y = 4 - x2 and the lines y = 0, y = 3.
6. Draw the rough sketch of y2 + 1 = x, x ≤ 2. Find the area enclosed by the curve
and the line x = 2.
7. Draw a rough sketch of the graph of the curve = 1 and evaluate the area of
the region under the curve and above the x-axis.
8. Sketch the region {(x, y): 4x2 + 9y2 = 36} and find its area, using integration.

9. Find the area of the region bounded by y = and y = x.

SECTION−E
(This section comprises of 3 case-study/passage-based questions of 4 marks each
with two sub-parts. First two case study questions have three sub-parts (i),(ii),
(iii) of marks 1,1,2 respectively. The third case study questions have two sub
parts of 2 marks each.
Case Study-1.
A mirror in the shape of an ellipse represented by the
x2 y 2
2
+ 2 =1
Equation a b was hanging on the wall. Arun and his
sister were playing with a ball inside their house. All of a
sudden, the ball hit the mirror and gets a scratch in the shape of a line represented by
x y
+ =1
3 2 .
Based on above information, answer the following questions:
(i)Find the point of intersection of the Mirror (Ellipse) and the
Scratch. (Straight Line)
3
2∫ 1−
(ii)Find the value of: 0
( x3 ) dx
(iii)Find the area of the smaller region bounded by the Mirror and Scratch.
