To find the x-intercept, let y = 0.

3x + 2(0) = 24

The x-intercept is 8. The x-intercept shows that 8 pounds of peanuts can be bought if no
pretzels are bought.

To find the y-intercept, let x = 0.

3(0) + 2y = 24
2y = 24
y = 12
The y-intercept is 12. The y-intercept shows that 12 pounds of pretzels can be bought if no
peanuts are bought.
