ANSWER NO: 01

ICT encourages students to think of themselves as designers, interactors, and architects of

information rather than just consumers of it. As a result, when computers (as thinking tools)
interact with students (as designers), new information is created. Ubiquitous computing, or
"information processing that has been extensively integrated into everyday things and activities,"
is a term used to describe "information processing that has been thoroughly integrated into
everyday items and activities" (York 2004)

All of these current developments, including teaching and learning for students and teachers, are,
in my opinion, types of global interaction. Although there are some hazards (identity theft or
scamming), the overall benefits in terms of the volume of knowledge available and the numerous
different ways to teach this information outweigh the disadvantages of ICT. This is why it's
critical to stay current with technology and ensure that students have access to a variety of
resources to help them grow their skills and knowledge.

There are numerous current trends in the field of information and communication technologies.
These may include the following:

 Interactive learning is used.

 Banking over the internet
 Shopping, advertising, and selling over the internet
 Networking
 Gaming
 Communicating
 Learning
 Entertainment
 Displaying and Sharing

Two Contemporary Trends in ICT

Mobile Learning

Learning on the go. Mobile "smart phones" are becoming indispensable tools due to
advancements in technology and software. Mobile devices with internet connectivity and
processing skills are poised to displace personal computers as the information appliance of
choice in the classroom, just as cell phones have surpassed fixed line technology in the
telecoms industry.

Personalized Learning

Education systems are increasingly looking at using technology to better identify a student's
prior knowledge base and personalize training to both address learning gaps and learning
styles. This focus shifts a classroom from one that teaches to the middle to one that adapts
content and technique to meet the needs of individual students, both strong and weak.

Issues in higher secondary level

The challenges plaguing Pakistan's higher educational system are multifaceted. Population
growth, a lack of resources, a scarcity of qualified manpower, inconsistency in various
regimes' policies, political instability, an inefficient educational management system,
resource waste, poor intake quality, managerial inefficiency, overcrowded classrooms,
insufficient student services, insufficient material resources, non-accountability of
institutions, inefficiency in teaching, poor research and a lack of research opportunities are
among them. Not only have the number of institutions increased, but the number of students
enrolled in colleges and universities has increased at an unprecedented rate. As a result, the
demands for higher education have skyrocketed.

Utilizing Mobile Learning to Overcome Teaching and Learning

Getting Students Ready for the Future

As an educator, your first and foremost responsibility is to prepare your students for the
future. To accomplish so, you'll need to integrate mobile devices into the classroom.

Working with mobile devices will be a part of their daily life as adults, as well as a critical
component of many professional routes. In an increasingly connected world, knowing how to
use mobile devices correctly is critical. Incorporating mobile technology in the classroom is
critical for properly preparing your students for the future as they transition into the
workforce.

Learning that is up to current

The days of scouring encyclopedias for knowledge are long gone.

Students can get fast access to the latest news, information, statistics, and more by using
mobile devices in the classroom. Almost any question they have can be answered right at
their fingertips, keeping them linked to what's going on in the world and ensuring they're
always up to date.

a substitute for textbooks

Many textbooks aren't the most up-to-date sources of knowledge. Instant, up-to-date
knowledge has become the norm for today's generation.

Mobile devices, unlike textbooks, can give students with the most up-to-date information.
Students are also more organized and have easier access to their resources using digital
textbooks on their mobile devices.

Nobody enjoys hauling heavy textbooks around. Many digital textbooks are regularly
updated, and they are frequently more vivid, useful, creative, and less expensive than the
traditional hefty books.

The classroom isn't the only place where students can learn.

Allowing mobile devices in the classroom allows students to learn outside of the
classroom. Students will have access to material throughout the day, not only during
computer lab time (which is also becoming extinct). They can get information from any
location on campus. Because students can utilize these gadgets as research tools during
assignments and group work, collaboration will rise.

Furthermore, because students enjoy technology, they are more likely to be enthusiastic
about it and continue learning outside school hours. Having such learning tools, digital
textbooks, and other resources on their mobile devices allows individuals to study and learn
more during downtime. They can always bring their books and notes with them and have
immediate access to materials.

Utilizing Personalized Learning to Overcome Teaching and Learning

Students in a personalized learning environment dramatically improve their knowledge. They

are able to focus more on their studies, and with self-studies, they have reached a point where
when lecturers deliver the lecture, they can quickly pick it up with little difficulty, and it has
also been proven that students who self-study score higher.

Teachers are better able to concentrate their time.

Teachers are allowed to address smaller groups of pupils for more targeted education because
many personalized learning programmes feature solo or collaborative tasks.

Students gain abilities that are applicable outside of the classroom and will benefit them
in the future.

As we'll see later, personalised learning usually entails pupils deciding on their own learning
path. This teaches pupils important life skills that they will need throughout their lives.
Consider the following scenario:

 When it comes to goal-setting, sharing helps kids develop drive and dependability.
 Students can build self-reflective capacities by engaging in self-assessment.
 Students can improve self-advocacy skills by determining their optimal learning
activities.

Conclusion
ICT trends are the finest approach to bring Pakistan's education system to its pinnacle, and if
teachers and students use it constructively and positively in schools, they may achieve much
more.

Methods of Teaching

The word "teaching technique" refers to the fundamental ideas, pedagogy, and classroom
management strategies that are used in the classroom.

Your teaching technique is determined by your educational philosophy, classroom

demographics, subject areas, and school purpose statement, among other factors.

Teacher-centered versus student-centered approaches, as well as high-tech versus low-tech

material utilization, are the two fundamental factors that divide teaching theories into four
categories.

Teacher Centered Method

Teacher-centered methodologies demand that children be educated using specific methods

implemented by their teacher, as opposed to student-centered philosophies, which tailor
teaching methods to individual students' needs and learning styles. In other words, teacher-
centered philosophies need students to adjust to the teacher, whereas student-centered
philosophies require the teacher to adjust to the student. The two teacher-centered ideologies
are essentialism and perennialism.

Essentialism
An essentialist curriculum is designed to foster discipline and a shared knowledge culture.
Essentialists emphasise in-depth knowledge of a few essential areas over broad knowledge of a
variety of subjects.

Three important components of essentialism in the classroom were detailed in The Essentialist's
Platform. Students were first to be taught by an essentialist instructor who was well-educated and
informed about the core curriculum. In essentialism, the teacher's responsibility was to teach a
precise curriculum with knowledge and authority, but the technique was up to the instructor.

The second part of the plan was to incorporate community service into the curriculum.

Third, students are promoted to the next educational level on a "pass or fail" basis; the only way
a student could advance was to demonstrate understanding of the required courses through
grades and tests. "If education abandons high standards and, as a result, provides no meaningful
stimulus, many people will go through twelve years of schooling only to find themselves in a
world where ignorance and a lack of fundamental training are significant handicaps," says the
author.

Perennialism

It is an educational philosophy focusing on everlasting ideals and universal truths gleaned from
art, history, and literature, and it is taught by teachers. Perennialism's curriculum is based on the
"Great Books," a corpus of works considered foundational, influential, and relevant in Western
civilization, independent of chronological period.

"If only because they are teacher-proof, the Great Books were the most promising road to liberal
education."

In the same way as essentialism guides the educational process, perennialism does. It's also
linked to the Socratic method of education, which encourages free communication between
teacher and student. In the classroom, students learn cultural literacy through reading the Great
Books and demonstrating their understanding through tests, writing, and behavior. It is the
responsibility of a perennialism teacher to assist pupils in becoming cultural citizens and
understanding the principles of human knowledge.
Information and communication technology (ICT) is a scientific, technological, and engineering
discipline and management technique for handling information, as well as its application and
connection to social, economic, and cultural issues (UNESCO, 2002). Information and
Communication Technologies (ICT) is an acronym for information and communication
technologies. ICT has been a part of our lives for decades, affecting both society and individual
lives. ICT is increasingly widely employed in educational settings. ICT is widely utilised by
teachers, students, administrators, and others involved in education. ICT is used by teachers to
make the teaching and learning process easier and more entertaining.

A professional teacher use a variety of skills and approaches to deliver effective instruction. As a
result, teacher development and enhancement necessitated understanding of ICT and Science &
Technology. In today's science and technological society, teachers must have a greater
understanding of ICT and the ability to employ it in the teaching-learning process.

Knowledge of ICT is also necessary for pre-service teachers during their training programme,
because this integrated technological knowledge allows a potential teacher to gain a greater
understanding of the world of technology and how it might be implemented in the future for the
benefit of students.

Many novel teaching and learning approaches have evolved and continue to emerge in education,
and with enhanced technology and globalised information, teaching and learning approaches are
increasingly incorporating technology into the process. In fact, there is mounting evidence that
information and communication technology (ICT) is infiltrating every aspect of education. As a
result, this significant shift has affected not only how knowledge is conveyed, but also how
learning environments are patterned, and the responsibilities of students and teachers alike can
take on new forms and turns as a result. Language education has not been spared from this
change. By incorporating ICT resources into their language classrooms, both language educators
and students are challenged to transform the way they teach and learn. This is especially crucial
in light of the fact that the multimedia side of ICT has been evolving at a breakneck pace in
recent years, with products like the iPhone and iPad basically advancing every minute, to address
the needs of evolution, technologies such as the Internet, digital equipment, and computer
peripherals are available. The range of functionalities given by such ICT tools can help teachers
make the most of them in their classrooms, and the availability of information can help learners
make the most of them in their learning process.

ICTs are currently giving schools and classrooms a new appearance by introducing new
curriculum focused on real-world problems and projects, providing tools for improving learning,
and providing instructors and students with more facilities and opportunities for feedback. ICT
also facilitates collaboration between teachers, students, and parents. Continuous and
Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) encourages students and teachers to employ more technology
in order to make teaching and learning more appealing to our future generations. Teachers must
be familiar with the usage of ICT in their subject areas in order to assist students in learning
more successfully.

Conclusion

Using ICT in the classroom is the most effective approach for teachers to improve their teaching
styles, as well as being beneficial and entertaining for students, as their interest grows and they
become more engaged.
