URK23CS1033 YOUTUBE MARKETING

AIM:
To understand and learn the YouTube Marketing strategy.
DESCRIPTION:
YouTube marketing is the practice of promoting a brand, product, or service on YouTube. It can
involve a mix of tactics, including (but not limited to):
 Creating organic promotional videos
 Working with influencers
 Advertising on the platform
PROCEDURE:
1. Create a YouTube channel for your business
Since YouTube is part of Google, you’ll need to create a Google account first to sign up for a
YouTube channel. You can use an existing account or create one especially for managing
your business.
Add your:
 “About” information.
 Channel art (the “header” image and profile picture).
 Social media and website links.
2. Learn about your audience
Compelling content will help attract new followers and keep them engaged over time. Focus on
creating a regular flow of content that’s relevant to the target audience and authentic to the
business.
3. Cover Photo (Channel Art)
 Show What Your Channel is About: Use imagery or text in your cover photo that
clearly conveys the theme or niche of your channel. For example, if your channel is
about cooking, include images of food or kitchen utensils.
 Indicate Upload Schedule: Clearly state when viewers can expect new content.
Example: "New Episode Every Friday" or "Videos Every Monday and Thursday."
 Keep it simple and optimized: Ensure the design is clean and not cluttered. Your cover
photo should look good on all devices (TV, desktop, and mobile). YouTube
recommends a size of 2560 x 1440 pixels, but the safe area where all text and logos
should fit is 1546 x 423 pixels.
4. Channel Profile Picture

 Use a Company Logo or Close-Up Face:

 For Brands: Use your company logo to reinforce brand recognition.
 For Personal Channels: A close-up face shot is ideal, as it creates a personal
connection with viewers. Make sure the image is clear and professional.
 Profile Picture Size: YouTube recommends a profile picture of 800 x 800
pixels, displayed as a 98 x 98 pixels circle.
5. Channel Settings
 Upload Defaults:
o Set your default upload settings to save time when uploading videos.
o Include default tags, video descriptions, and privacy settings that apply to most
of your uploads.
o Customize these settings based on your channel’s content.
 Branding:
o Upload a watermark that will appear on all your videos. It can be your logo or
a simple subscribe button.
o Consider the size and placement to ensure it’s visible but not distracting.
6. Advanced Settings:
 Channel Keywords: Add relevant keywords that describe your channel. These help
YouTube understand your content and improve your channel’s visibility in search
results.
 Connect Google Ads: If you plan to run ads to promote your channel, link your
YouTube account with Google Ads to manage campaigns directly.
 Website and Social Links: Add your website and social media links in the "About"
section of your channel. These links will be displayed on your channel banner, making
it easy for viewers to find more of your content.
 Google Analytics: Connect your channel with Google Analytics for detailed insights
into viewer behavior, traffic sources, and more. This helps you tailor your content
strategy based on what works best.
